DIG Featured on Growing a Greener World!
Water is one of earth’s most important natural resources. Nearly 100 gallons are used per person every day, from consumption to lawn irrigation to landscape use. In fact, nearly 40% of potable water usage occurs outdoors. Growing a Greener World is an award-winning TV show appearing on national Public Television that features organic gardening, green living and farm-to-table cooking. DIG shares their vision for innovation and water conservation to build a greener tomorrow.
In this episode, DIG’s Marketing Manager, Ben Raines, and Technical Service Manager, Stuart Spaulding, discuss how DIG’s LEIT-2ET wireless irrigation control system conserves water while saving energy. The LEIT RC2ET handset, with its large LCD display and sophisticated software, uploads the necessary programmed site information to the LEIT-2ET controller. The LEIT-2ET controller then calculates the daily local microclimate evapotranspiration (ET) by data received by the LEIT WWS or LEIT WWSE wireless solar powered weather station. This determines the optimum level of irrigation necessary. The system operates by using ambient light (solar) powered technology that charges lead-free super capacitors, not batteries, making it one of the most environmentally friendly controllers on the market.
DIG is honored to be featured in this episode of Growing a Greener World (Waterwise 2.0). Located in San Diego, CA, DIG manufactures a complete line of alternative powered irrigation controllers and low volume irrigation products which include drippers, micro sprinklers, sprayers, foggers, drip tubing, drip lines, fittings, and accessories.
