Hey guys ! I’m launching some simple icon commissions for pride month ! :D
These are discounted from my normal rates and would directly help me with things like bills and such for the month of June ! :]
If you think you’d be interested but aren’t quite sure - Message me ! We can talk it out and if you’re still unsure by the end that’s ok, I understand and no harsh feelings.
The turnaround on these would only be 1-2 days ! This is volume dependent but I’m going to try my best to stick towards getting them out quick !
some quick guidelines and rules under the cut and Happy Pride :D
Guidelines
- Must include some sort of reference - this can be as simple as a piccrew or doodle, visuals help so much with the process
- I am completely open to drawing characters from media with lgbtq+ headcanons !
- I’ll need the name of the flag for the commission. Name, not just picture. I’m very strict on this as this allows me to research the flag prior to avoid and block people using M/AP flags and so on. Please feel free to include both though! I know there’s many different versions out there.
- That being said: You don’t have to directly have a flag in the commission ! If you just want a simple bust commission unrelated to pride, go ahead, I don’t blame you for doing so while they’re cheaper and quicker !
- The two flag rule is mostly for visibility reasons, when you split an icon into thirds it gets harder to see all 3 flags. As someone with many flags I understand wanting all of them, so we can definitely chat about a best option for you and your identity.
- You’re entitled to one major edit and two minor edits. A major would be a complete sketch redraw, or a full palette shift. A minor would be the changing the hair sketch, or making a color less warm. Chances are though, if you want it changed, I’ll do it.
- You’re also entitled to two different versions of the icon - such as one in warm colors and one in cool colors or one with your gender identity and the other with your sexuality !
- I operate through PayPal, Cashapp, AND Venmo ! If you don’t have any of those, we can find an option. Payment, due to quick turnaround, is prior to starting commission but after discussion of posing, coloring, and of course flags.
- I’ll submit a sketch and after that’s approved, you won’t get an update till after coloring. After thats approved, I’ll send you the full resolution without watermarked icon :]
- The icon is free to use on any platform, but I still retain ownership / copyright of said icon. It cannot be sold on merchandise or any other format, and isn’t distributable. I’d like credit in bios but isn’t necessary, since you did purchase it.
That’s about it !
Thanks for reading, have an amazing day and Pride Month!
I know is odd to make an official commission post when I’ve been on here so little recently but I’ve started to get more free time. Downside is my mental health has been plummeting a lot, and part of it is gender related. I’m officially opening up commissions to save for a binder!
For those who don’t know me, hi! I’m Finley / Lem, and I’m a non-binary, full time art student. I currently use a sports bra to bind, and while it’s definitely helped on bad days, it’s old and the elastic is wearing out. It sadly, just doesn’t do what I need it to anymore. Hence, opening commissions.
I’m only accepting payments through PayPal currently
Typically how the commission process will work is we’ll communicate on an idea (such as lineart, color, etc) I’ll send a rough watermarked sketch and then tell you the amount of time it will take to complete! This includes screenshots of the time it took directly from the app I’m using.
If you have any questions, even if you’re unsure if you’ll buy, feel free to shoot me a DM! For more examples, other art I’ve done is under #lemliv art ! And I hope you a great night :]
Question, would you ever be open to doing commissions? I don’t really have anything I would wanna commission, but I wanna support you in any way I can!
Actually yeah! The way I do commissions is actually by hour !! I know that might seem untraditional but being in school it’s what works best for me.
I charge 10 dollars per hour and I haven’t taken more than 3 hours on a piece in ages and don’t start the timer until I get to the final sketch.
There’s a little more info / explanation under the cut!
OKAY so the charge is 10 dollars an hour BUT I also can go down to half hours so if I take an hour 1/2 it would be $15 not $20 :0!
(I probably wouldn’t do backgrounds for awhile just because those add literal HOURS to my work)
Just for some examples -
My Icarus tommy drawing with the melting wings? That took me 49 m ! So it would only be 10 dollars !
But I have a more rendered full body tubbo drawing that took me 1 hour and 40 minutes, because it’s about 10 minutes over it’s 20 dollars.
Usually my dumb cartoony funny drawings? It’s rare for those to hit an hour !
I also actively try to communicate with the commissioner as I’m working on it giving at least 3 different sketches, options for a cleaned sketch versus lineart (one cuts down on time), and color choice. It’s very customizable
Thanks for asking btw ! I’ll tag this under lemliv commissions so it’s easy to find!
EDIT: I JUST REALIZED I DIDNT EVEN PUT HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME?? You can message me here or on discord
(Sorry, this is super long) Quick question, in reference to commissions, would you be willing to draw a character who hasn't officially been drawn by the person commissioning you? Like it's their character, but they are a writer so all they have is a description? Would you be willing to draw it if they were able to show reference art that's just art they have also commissioned from different artists? I know that sounds super confusing, I'm sorry. I wrote these characters in a story, then decided to commission art of them from some really cool artists, so that would kinda be the only visual reference I could give. Also, I know you wrote something about commissions but I legit cannot find the post. Do you happen to remember what you tagged it as?
Hello!!!
And yes 110% !! While I’ll work off of only writing, since I’ve done it before, it does add to time. So visuals help both me and you! even if you go on like a doll maker or give me a Pinterest board that would be very helpful. As for other artists work - again of course. I am not picky at all when it comes to references or visuals.
My commission related tag is #lemliv commissions ! I’ll add it into my intro post so it’s easier to find :]!!
