Love-lies-bleeding: Has your character ever done something even though they didn’t want to?
From the moment he was born, Chanyeol believed in pure devotion to those he cared and loved for and vice versa, excluding murder and bloodshed. When Chanyeol had been thirteen, one of his friends ended up begging for death at the giant’s feet. For sure, Chanyeol knew it wasn’t easy to present a flawless performance as well as an artificial smile in front of the crowd while backstage, people were continuously killed, but the fact his friend desperately called for it caught Chanyeol off guard.
In the end, he just gave in, ramming a butcher knife he had stolen from the kitchen into the other’s chest and just watched his friend leaving this world, a tender smile on the other’s face. Chanyeol still blames himself because he was the one to hold the wielding the knife. But wasn’t it the other performer’s will? It’s a weak attempt of his to somehow calm his mind, but Chanyeol knows, no matter how much he’ll think about it, he’ll always give himself the fault of the little bloodshed.
Nightshade: What is a painful truth your character has had to face?
Chanyeol had always found interest in everyone else. As soon as he meets someone, his interest is sparked. He wants to get to know what the other individual is made of.
The first time he ever got sick of someone entirely made him freeze in shock. No hate, no happiness, nothing. The other one just bored the heck out of him so they talked less and less, in the end drifting away from each other. In his current situation, Chanyeol understands his disappearing interest as a way to become emotionless. Maybe it’s just the outcome of his exaggeration, but he slowly but surely thinks of himself as a cold and distant monster.
