Some lemon discourse 4 you sorry. I just cannot find all these “she/her gays” ppl are talking about! I know that we playfully call each other “girl/cis/she” but at the end of the day, every single gay man I know uses he/him when asked. “She/her gays” is a complete misunderstanding of cultural practices.
Yeahhhhh true. I know they totally exist, in fact we’ve HAD a she/her gay trans boy uwu as an anon, but I feel like she/her gay men are a lot less common than he/him lesbians?I feel like in general, while a lot of gay men are gnc, I feel as if it tends to end at “I’m a man who is gender nonconforming”? Whereas lesbians are more likely to have their gender and sexuality sort of cemented together? So it’s less of a “I’m a woman who is gender nonconforming” and just “My gender IS being a lesbian”? Idk, it isn’t something I can specifically speak on because I’m obviously not a lesbian but I’ve heard the sentiment of lesbian as a gender identity expressed pretty frequently in lesbian discussions.
Of course, I HAVE heard the sentiment of “gay as a gender identity” for masc leaning people in (typically afab) nb communities, but like... I have THOTS on nonbinary people forcing their way into inherently binary communities/labels, and we don’t need to get into that.
