Got the sniffles? It feels like everyone has them right now, myself included. So what happens when you eat healthy, exercise regularly and sleep good but the sniffles hit you anyway? For me, I curled up and gave my body the rest that it needed, I drank probiotics, juices and warming lemon and ginger teas and I decided not to give myself a hard time about taking a day off. Next day, my head is clearer, I woke up with more energy and felt keen to get back into work and agreed with my body that maybe the workout could wait until tomorrow since I don't want to push it too hard and relapse into sickness. I am reading a book at the moment on Zen Buddhism and it talks about this too. Even the most enlightened people on earth get sick. I know I have had some big judgements on myself when I have been sick at other times that "I didn't look after myself enough", or "I can't take a day off, that is lazy and not ok". Now, I am being kinder and more forgiving to myself and I know that will support my body in the long run.
