I take a lot of photos of views from windows and doorways. There’s something about looking outward, maybe it’s a reflection of self, my inner self watching this current incarnation’s experience. This particular view is the valley behind my cousin Angie’s house in Lemon Arbour, St John, Barbados. The valley is huge and shows the flatness of the island. The deck that I was on to capture it is my favorite one in her house, and where I meditated after waking up and doing morning squats. Her house is my safe house, my place of solace, where I can go and take time to collect myself.
