🌱🌳🌱Another view of the #topiary wall bordering my front porch. In this pic from last spring, the #lemoncypress and boxwood are more tightly clipped and clean in form and shape. I do no pruning on the box this time of year, nor the cypress. The cypress is looking shaggy and unkept (charmingly so though😐) but I only do VERY light pruning now. I find the air inside and out far too dry and desiccating. The tips would dry and brown under these conditions...so I’ll wait closer to spring when humidity is higher. I’ll also use VERY sharp clippers. 🍂🌳🍂Do you have a vision board? Or a vision notebook or Pinterest category or just a Lust List? The premise being that what you see and visually engage with...will more likely become manifest. May I ask what’s on it? Well I am starting one on Pinterest...a #pinterestproject that will hopefully consolidate a lot of things/aspirations/goals (both personal and communal) I have scattered about...that will, I hope, make me a happier, better, more engaged and generous person. A lot to ask of a bulletin board! This will be my first pin: a greenhouse. How I’ll get it I have no idea...as I have ABSOLUTELY no room for it in my urban garden. Maybe in Colorado some day? (Yes, I have a ‘Colorado dreamin’ board🙂). In the meantime though, I have the baskets of bulbs, the topiary, and a lot of pots😆. No harm in dreaming, right? I am very eager for the Parade of the topiaries down my front brick wall to begin anew! The yellow standard conifers are lemon cypress that smell divine, and have wonderful form. Make sure they don't dry out though, or they are history. I bought some replacements this week that will move outdoors as soon as weather permits.
