Hey, for my Pennsylvanians. If you're contacting your reps you should also tell them to give state recognition to the Lenape Nation! Pennsylvania is one of the only states that doesn't recognize any tribes, even thought the Lenape people are still here and deserve to be treated as their own nation!

Native Americans with a long rich history and ancestral origins along the Delaware River gathered in cape may Sunday.

This is about the end of the river journey that's been going on for the last couple weeks, and the group for whom I help out a little as secretary. :-)

The Lenape Nation, the group mentioned near the end of this article about an exhibit at the Penn Museum, is the group for whom I volunteer as secretary. Next month they have a canoe River Journey down the Delaware River, starting August 2nd, including treaty signings with groups and individuals, because signing treaties with government didn't work out so well. Events along the way are listed at that second link, and if you live close enough, I highly recommend attending one.
