I can’t stomach canon!Zelena. (Which is funny, because I love throwing her in my AU fanfic. She’s such an amazing character:ruthless yet vulnerable,and with so many weaknesses to play with while she keeps her strong mask on. Villain or antihero, she’s a delight to play with.) But in canon… SIGH. By this point I had accepted that Zelena would be redeemed because canon never punishes villains related to the Charming-Mills clan. Not even Cora. I'd also accepted that OUAT had become a series of unrelated one-shots, each written by a different writer who had only read the other summaries. An episode having any relationship to others was a really high bar. But an out-of-nowhere plot twist, to explain a hated character's redemption? LOL. NO. Also, no spoilers. HUG

See, that’s exactly where I was going with the zucchini comparison. These are all things I should love in a character, but I just cannot get over the fact that it’s this character, which kind of ruins the whole experience. It’s a sad, sad thing, really. (And now I want to read your AUs... any that are not safe at this point that I should avoid?)

And yeah, it’s a bit frustrating that the whole “family” theme in the show now mostly boils down to "redemption is for family only”. The extreme one-shot feeling has lessened in this half of the season, I think, but I agree that it’s still there. I can’t help but wonder about the logistics of these things. Like... is it a deadline problem? Do the individual writers just not have the time to read more than a barebones-summary of the script or what is happening? And is it something that can be avoided without significantly increased funding?

...look, I have a lot of time to think when my biorhythm messes up and I’m wide awake at four in the morning.

How does Regina feel about her big sister?

I think Regina has mixed feelings about her. In one hand she is happy for Zelena, because she has come to a point in which she wishes for everyone the hapinness she came to find in Henry and her renewed relationship with the Charmings and the whole of Storybrooke and then with the NEF people.

On the other hand, I don’t think she has forgotten about Robin. Regina is the kind of person that can, with effort, forgive, but never ever forgets. She worked hard and suffered for her redemption and lost many things in the way there, and life seems to shine over Zelena. She lost her magic because she did something stupid but got it back later. She messed with Robin and caused Regina immense pain because of that, and now she is about to get married. 

As much as I don’t think Regina needs a man to be happy, it is ok for her to want that in her life. I think she longs for it and that’s why she ended up having that stupid fling with Facilier in HH (Sorry, shadow queeners).

So, I can picture those hurt feelings of unfairness and bitterness and jealousy battling her genuine wish of happiness for her sister and her conscience telling her she has no claim to “justice” regarding the situation. Zelena going back to San Francisco might have been a relief for her in the sense that her sister’s presence was a constant reminder of all this.

Follow up to this.

Belle was surprised by how quickly she was able tomove into her new place, and how neat Detective Weaver kept his apartment.  It put her old apartment – with it’s mountainof books on every available surface – to shame; but she was actually ratherhappy about that.  It was best to startas one wished to continue, and they’d gotten off on the right foot in heropinion.

Weaver kept all kinds of crazy hours, given his job,but he was quiet and respectful.  Besidesthe first embarrassing morning when she’d forgotten she was living with someoneand walked in on him in the shower, they stayed out of each other’s way and gotalong.  In fact, Weaver was usually goneso often it felt a little like she was living with a ghost.  The only sign that he had even been there wasa plate drying in the rack by the sink or one of her books being moved with aslip of paper as a bookmark.

She didn’t know why, but seeing those little thingsmade her smile.  Weaver was a prickly manon the outside, and she’d heard all kinds of terrible things about how he wastoo rough, but he was careful with her books and meticulous in everything elsehe did.  Belle sometimes found herself wishingshe could spend a little more time with him.

Fate, it seemed, had heard her wish.  As one morning she woke to the smell offrying bacon and freshly brewed tea. Sleepy and confused she rolled out of bed and made her way to thekitchen in nothing but a baggy t-shirt and loose sleeping pants she’d worn tobed.  Running her hands through her hairshe stopped when she realized where the smell was coming from.  Weaver was cooking.  He looked like he was in his element, hisshoulders relaxed as he hummed softly to himself.  Most of the time he was tired and a littlewaspish but it seemed cooking calmed him.

Belle knew it was rude to watch her roommate whilehe was unaware she was there, they’d barely shared more than a few sentences, butshe couldn’t look away.  He was in asimple cotton shirt and slacks instead of the ridiculous jean on jean outfit heworse usually, and his hair was still a little messy from sleep.  But what she noticed most was that a smallsmile was tugging at his lips, as if he was thinking about something.  The moment felt too private and Belle beganto feel bad for intruding.

“Hey,”  Shesaid so he knew she was there.

“Hey,”  Weaverreplied, his face closing itself off carefully as he nodded to her.  No more secret smiles it seemed.

“What are you making?”  Belle asked since the weight of his stare wastoo awkward for her to bear.

“Eggs and bacon.” He said simply lifting the pan to show her what she already knew wasthere.

“Cool, cool.” Belle replied as she nodded her head, any further words abandoning her.

“Do you… want some?” Weaver asked.

“Oh, that’s really nice, but I can’t impose…”

“No, no, it’s fine, I always make too much.”  He insisted.

“Are you sure?” Belle asked as she bit her lower lip.

She’d like to have breakfast with him; there was amystery there that she found fascinating. But she didn’t want to force herself on him either.  They weren’t friends; they weren’t anything excepttwo people living under the same roof.

“Yeah,”  Thenhe shot her a lopsided grin.  “I thinkyou need to eat more than those instant noodles you keep in the cupboard.”

Belle ducked her head to hide her blush.  “I’ll have you know that they’re great for mybusy schedule.  And don’t think I didn’tnotice when you ate one and slipped a fiver under another to pay me back.”  She countered.

“You’ve got me, they’re very handy, but it’s my dayoff and I’m pretty sure the library doesn’t open today either, so why don’t wehave some real food?”  Weaver said.

“I’d like that.” Belle said with a smile.

Why would they include Rumbelle in the sneak peek? It’s not like they have anything to do with the episode. Next you’ll tell me that they should have included Rumple in the sneak peeks for the Beowulf vs. the ogres episode!

Crazy talk! Having a Rumple sneak peek in the Beowulf episode? Nah, that wouldn’t make any sense. Why would anyone care about Rumple in his flashbacks? It’s much better to have pictures of trees and promos of random side characters.

That’s a fairly specific ask. :D Eggplant, huh? Why eggplant? I LOVE eggplant 🍆 ❤️ but I’m not supposed to have it. Unless I want hives and migraines. :/

TMI Tuesday prompt - Rumbelle + getting a new car. any 'verse.

(( Let’s check on the Storybrooke!Soulmates and see how they are! =D ))

Belle frowned. “This is too much.”

“what do you mean?”

“This!” Belle said, gesturing to the screen before her that had listings of all manner of different cars. “It’s too much.”

“You were against a dealership...”

“That would have been worse.” She sighed, sitting back in the chair. “I don’t need a new car...”

Belle’s voice trailed off. Of course, that wasn’t exactly the case. While her car got her from point A to point B, it was still her father’s old car and would not last her much longer. She hadn’t expected her soulmate to offer to buy her one, let alone insist on it.

“You deserve a new car.” Gold said gently, placing his hands on her shoulders and rubbing gently. She melted under his touch immediately. “It’s no trouble sweetheart.”

Belle hummed. “You don’t have to buy me one.”

“Of course I do.” His fingers worked at a sore spot on her neck, and Belle hummed again. “I’d buy you anything you need. That’s what soulmates are for.”

“That’s not what soulmates are for.” She sighed as the soreness in her neck was soothed by his touch. “You’re cheating.”

“How’s that?”

“You’re buttering me up with a massage so I’ll agree.”

Gold hummed this time, smirking to himself as he leaned down to kiss her hair. “Is it working?” Belle was silent, and a small niggling erupted in his head, letting him know she was displeased. “Let me spoil you a little, sweetheart.”

“This isn’t a little I...” She sighed, her hand catching his. She stroked his knuckles with the pad of her thumb. “We’re not...I’d never be able to pay you back.”

Gold’s brows furrowed. “Does that matter?”

“Of course it does!” Belle said, looking up at him. “You’re thinking of dropping a few grand on me like it’s nothing. I can’t...”

“Belle.” Her babbling ceased, and Gold smiled. He brought his arms around her from his place behind her, cradling her hands in his. “Look at your left hand.”

Belle tilted her head, but showed him her palm. His name shown proudly, tattooed there for only the two of them to see. “It’s not any different.”

“Except it is.” He said, moving to lace their fingers together. “It’s got me now. You have me now. And I have you.”

“This is what soulmates are for...” Belle echoed, looking up at him again. “I suppose I shouldn’t fight it then. I’ll let you spoil me a little. This once.

She brought his knuckles to his lips, kissing them easily. “I love you, Rumple.”

“And I love you.” He said. “Now, let’s get to the dealership before it closes.”

Guilty ask - A is married to B. B has an affair with C. BC decide to kill A. With C's knowledge, B poisons A. But they have miscalculated and instead of dying, A is so high that once he finds out about B's infidelity and the murder attempt, he kills B but doesn't remember it. In this story, C gets rid of B's body, and carts A back to his house. When A awakes the next day, he never suspects he's missing a day - is this possible? (He lives a solitary life, so no one points out any incongruity)

I’m not that knowledgeable about poisons / the effects of drugs - go say hi to @scriptpharmacist for that part!

But yes, it’s not unreasonable for him to never find out he’s missing a day if he doesn’t have a structured weekly routine, and isn’t the type to really keep track of days anyways.
