I feel like you might appreciate hearing my brother's thoughts on the dumpster tossing in S1
He said: "I love the dynamic between Kurt and those guys. It's like he still has some power, he tells them to wait and gives one his jacket to hold before they toss him, and they just go with it. It's like it's just this thing they do. Like afterwards they probably help him back out and Mohawk goes 'aight see ta tomorrow same time same place' and Kurt just huffs and walks away."
And honestly I think about that a lot it's so funny
This is a good take, it is pretty iconic that Kurt can just tell them to wait and hold his coat before they toss him.
I'd say it's a mutual respect, except it's... not, at all, lol. More like a mutual understanding I guess? Kurt knows he can't get out of it and he accepts it, so he doesn't bother trying to get out of it. And because the guys don't have to fight him on it every single time, they're willing to put up with the small things he asks for, you know?
BUT ALSO now I'm thinking about an AU where Kurt and Puck are secretly dating and Kurt goes along with it because Puck isn't out to anyone yet and Kurt doesn't want Puck standing up for him and raising suspicions. Puck obviously feels uneasy about it but he goes along with it for a while because he's scared out being outed (and obviously sees how his "friends" react to Kurt being gay, so he's scared for good reason).
But then eventually he finally realizes that what he's doing is super shitty and finally stands up for Kurt to his friends and the guys are like "what are you gay too now? ha ha" and Puck is just like "so what if I fuckin am?" and then he just kisses Kurt full on the mouth in front of everyone. They're all just shocked and staring at them and don't say a word, and then Puck just say "c'mon, babe," and takes Kurt's hand, grabs Kurt's coat from whoever was holding it, and they walk away.
