More from the archives: when we knew that our time in New York was limited, I dragged my husband down 125th Street to experience my daily commute, only instead of taking the bus, we walked it. By the time we did this, the M&G Soul Food Diner with the iconic sign was already taken down, so I made sure to take a picture of the Lenox Lounge sign, and I’m SO glad I did, because the last I saw it had become a Wells Fargo. 

I definitely encourage everyone out there that if they see something that they think is cool, stop and take a photo of it. It doesn’t need to be the best photo, but if you can look back at it over a decade later and still appreciate its beauty, then it’s worth the five-minute delay, maximum, to stop and get the shot.
