Concept: a fic where Akechi is still in the ship when it sinks and instead of dying inside/being forced out into reality, he ends up somewhere in the middle?

Akira sees his “ghost” in Leblanc, or the train station, or the cafe they went on a not-date at once. Places that connected the two of them, and now Akira has to figure out how to pull Akechi out of the inbetween by finding all the other places in the city that connected whoever Goro Akechi really was to reality.

What parts of Akechi are real? The detective prince? The frustrated underling Akira found looking through the box of things Sae had from when they cleared out his desk? The boy that feeds ducks with old ladies? The person who runs his food blog? The part that rides the train to the end of the line so he can sit and watch the ocean for hours? Are they all?

All I’m saying is the idea that Akira saving Akechi by visiting all the places that were important to him and talking to other people who knew him in order to gain a more complete and substantial cognition of him and using that to will him back into reality is very good.

Early on in the year Akira asking Goro about his day and Goro responding “I killed a man in cold blood. Put a gun against his head, looked into his eyes, and felt nothing as I pulled the trigger.” and Akira, of course, assumes this is a joke and laughs.

It devolves into Akechi telling Akira about his day over a cup of coffee, every day confessing to a list of increasingly outlandish crimes, some true and some imagined. Some days it’s derailing a train, others it’s another hit, once he jokes about stalking the person he is madly in love with on the subway. He even followed them home. He likes to confess to crimes playing out on the daily news.

Sometimes, Akira tries to guess what sort of crime Akechi has committed that day or throws in suggestions for the future. Plundering a castle, stealing a painting from an art museum, robbing a bank. 

The day Medjed make their announcement he confesses to being involved in a nation-wide conspiracy.

The day Okumura dies, it feels a little less like a joke. After the school festival he says he’s become a Phantom Thief, and Akira doesn’t laugh at all.

The things he confesses to during Niijima’s palace falls flat. Akira isn’t in the mood to joke with him. After Futaba plants the bug, it feels more like mockery than banter when he confesses to plotting the death of a trusted ally.

The day they send the calling card Akechi confesses to sentencing an innocent man to death. There isn’t any humor in his voice, no malice either. Just regret.

Akira suggests he tries a jail break tomorrow.

Spear Me a Minute || Jarel + Leo

I wake up and the first thing I do after leaving my room is check my group next to Dasia. Rosalie, Athelea and some people I don't know. I immediately smile at the idea of training with Athelea again as I make my way down to training.

Getting there I pick a station, almost randomly, and end up with a spear in hand. I'm listening to the trainer as he gives me some advice when I hear footsteps behind me.

Foolish and Risky || Kelly & Leo

This was probably the stupidest thing Kelly had ever done. She still wasn't sure what this was, but they just agreed to keep seeing each other. Now she had to figure out why she was so happy about it. Why she wanted to see him, even if it was the worst idea ever. Kelly just walked over the carnival, checking everything out earlier and it was stupid. She was watched, everyone gave her looks and she felt like the people begun to whisper about her again. About Annie's poor friend. She hated the pity she got, she didn't need it and her public break downs weren't to be attention seeking. The more she felt watched, the more she knew meeting Leo was a completely crazy idea. Beside of that -A knew. However -A found out, but now Kelly was sure -A was everywhere and she begun to believe the things -A messaged her. They promised a break in the case.. so Kelly knew she would get something. She just had to be patient, which was not exactly easy.

She was still wondering what was going on between Leo and her. Kelly hated not to know. She always needed to know everything. She was curious, it was almost too easy to get him say he wanted to keep it up. She was on her way to his apartment, her parents thought she was out with Will again. Lying became so easy. At least going out with William was working out how she wanted to. She hated to be questioned by her parents where she were and what she was doing. Using her ex boyfriend for this wasn't entirely a good idea but it was the best she got.

She tried to figure out how this crazy story started but she couldn't really follow it. They just seemed to drive each other crazy. Sneaking in in the apartment building she was glad no one was around. Most people were probably gone to the carnival. She shook her head again, how stupid this all was before she knocked slightly at his door, hoping he would open before anyone saw her. What would she say then? "Hey." she smiled slightly. "Missed me?"
