The inks are still working hard over here. If I’m not careful, I’ll burn out before Inktober even gets here!
So this piece is a bit off-topic, not Les Mis-related, but from the project I’m working on now, which is set in the 9th century and finally gives me the chance to talk about stuff I know (!). The story is essentially a buddy cop show between a monk and a saint, going around the Frankish Empire solving people’s saint-related problems. Saint shown above. Monk shown here:
The monk is fictional, but the saint is Leudegar of Autun. Remember him?
Yeah, my version is cooler. ;) He was a martyred bishop saint who had his eyes gouged out and his lips cut off and his tongue cut out, amid other torments, hence the faint scarring around my saint’s eyes and mouth and his strange eyeballs.
Leudegar’s a pretty fun dude to hang around most of the time, but don’t make him angry. Saints have tons of power but often the emotional maturity of children... =__=
