u know why we don't really buy the "Margulis actually loved b*llas"/"there was mutual love in the early stages of their relationship" narrative

throughout The New War, we learn that the Narmer Veil is supposed to flip certain truths on their heads to tell you "comforting lies" and make u believe in them wholeheartedly. the Veil tried to convince the Ostrons and Solaris into believing the Tenno was the reason their lives sucked, and not the Orokin that made their lives suck

And what b*llas saw in the Veil was Margulis saying she loved him. The comforting lie that he wanted to believe in was Margulis loving him.

AKA, flipping the truth: it was not Margulis who loved him, it was he who loved Margulis.

so even in ballsack's deepest denials he figured out that Margulis never loved him in the first place, and that all her previous "romantic reciprocations" were just her leading him on, using their status to pull strings of her own (to save the Tenno).

that's why he had so many furious words to throw at her during TNW's end fight ("Once this child is dead, you and I WILL HAVE WORDS."/"They warned me about you, you know. Before the Jade Light. I should've listened."), because he couldn't cope with the idea Margulis was tricking him and using him with the illusion of her love

cuz i think Margulis is one crafty motherfucker who is smarter than this fandom likes to believe. Also i think the 'M' in Margulis stands for Manipulative and the 'L' stands for lesbian ok .sources: trust me girl thank yous mic drop
