Your recent reblog of that post where you're talking about choosing the Margulis name at the end of New War has me rethinking how I see the Lotus as a whole (Well, your whole blog has been doing that) and I wish to share takes. Specifically, I've always thought about and discussed the Margulis/Lotus/Natah choice in terms of which one is the "right" choice, which one is the "real" Space Mom, and primarily with people that thought the same. And now I'm thinking in terms where that isn't the case, so
I'll get to the point(s), in my view, Lotus is the closest to a "right" choice, as her whole story before and during The New War is about that being who she chose to be, with Hunhow and Erra wanting her to go back to being Natah, and then B*llas wanting her to be Margulis, she chose to be the Lotus, so why "agree" with either Hunhow or B*llas by picking Natah or Margulis, y'know?
That's mostly where I was, but that recent Margulis reblog I mentioned got me rethinking that name in particular. Now I see it less like "Giving B*llas what he wants" and more like...choosing the Tenno's Mother, if that makes sense, you're choosing Margulis, but not B*allas' romantic obsession, you're choosing Margulis, the woman that argued for the Tenno to be allowed to exist, that cared for them, even after she lost her sight to them.
And then, on the flip side, the Natah choice, which was the one I personally picked, to be honest, the fact I think she has the cooler design out of the three played a...non-neglectable...part in that choice, but also, way I saw it, Natah is her "base" form, so, I was basically giving her a "clean slate", letting her define herself, not as what we (the Tenno) saw her as, or remembered her to be. Same way as with the Margulis choice, I saw Natah less as "siding with Hunhow", and more as "Her own definition of Natah".

Thank you for this ask! Even though it's been a while, we were in a reflective mood and found ourselves thinking about Warframe again. The Natah/Lotus/Margulis choice is such a deeply complex, beautiful, and sometimes aggravating subject of debate. We are ever grateful to provide an avenue for thoughtful discussion, because Void knows this fandom needs it!

Margulis, for a significant time to us, was a symbol of a depraved man's fantasy. And when that was the only thing we saw her as, of course every mention of her would bring disgust to our body. Of course it brought up judgment for those who picked the same woman her abuser wanted to own.
But that's not a sustainable way to engage with this character. Ever since Margulis was introduced in TSD, her actions for the Tenno and compassion were beacons of her character, and they were integral to the Tenno journey. She is loved, flawed, and very human, like all of us are. She stood alone without ballas' interference, and constantly assigning his name to hers even after her victory ends up leaving a bitter taste in our mouth.
We'd like to consolidate and append our TNW Choice Opinion posts to this ask, so any passersby can check them out for themselves and observe the many different angles you can approach this choice from.

Now, on this 25th April 2026, we maintain and conclude the following: the narrative decision to make the Lotus plural, having Natah, Margulis and Lotus exist in one vessel, serve as the resolution to her "identity crisis", is one of the best storytelling decisions Warframe has had to offer.
We hope all three of our Space Moms continue to receive the love and grace they rightfully deserve: from the fanbase, and from DE.
