Royal Rumble Thoughts Because Apparently I Like Suffering
The Royal Rumble is supposed to be WWE’s most exciting match format and yet every year they find new and creative ways to fumble it.
Stop Wasting Rumble Spots
The roster is way too deep to keep burning entries on people who don’t show up to work.
And before anyone says “but returns are fun”:
I know returns and surprises are exciting. That’s literally part of the Rumble’s appeal. But legends, criminals, and part-timers who “return” multiple times a year are not what that means. That’s not a surprise. That’s just recycling the same people while full-time talent sits in catering.
Bron’s spot was completely wasted in a Rumble that already didn’t feature everyone it should have. If you’re going to do the black hoodie angle, he should’ve been taken out entirely and that spot given to Finn or literally anyone who needed it. That black hoodie better be Seth or Adam Pearce. Adam Pearce would be an elite twist.
Gunther entering after already having a match and then losing was pointless. If he’s taking up a spot, he should’ve WON. Otherwise don’t put him in.
Oba was not the Iron Man and didn’t have the most eliminations. L.
Why did they waste a spot on Rusev. He was eliminated too fast to matter and got minimal crowd reaction.
Why were all four members of The Vision in it at all.
Why were BOTH El Grande Americanos in it. No Finn, no Melo, no Dom… but two El Grandes? Be serious.
This was the perfect time for Chad Gable to return with a serious upgraded gimmick and instead this stupid El Grande nonsense is still running. We’re unmasking actual luchadors on SmackDown while this borderline racist parody gimmick runs free on Raw.
Leon Slater should’ve been there representing TNA. He’s insanely over right now and that spot could’ve meant something.
Stop booking people who are part-time at best and don’t show up to work. The roster is way too deep to still be doing this shit.
At this point they spoil 50–75% of the entrants anyway. Make it merit-based. Skill-based. Attendance-based. Do qualifiers. Do a combine. Let Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and partner brands like AAA and TNA compete for spots instead of handing them out to Roman, Brock, and the Bellas.
People Who Should’ve Been There (And Weren’t)
Where the fuck was Melo.
Where the fuck was Dom.
Finn Balor should’ve been in the Rumble.
Melo and Trick should have OPENED the Men’s Rumble.
Even if they didn’t open it, I was at least looking forward to Melo and Trick interacting at some point, and we didn’t even get that because Melo wasn’t in the Rumble AT ALL.
Creative Decisions That Made No Sense
They really couldn’t come up with a name even slightly more different from “Legend Killer” for Gunther? “Career Killer” is borderline copyright infringement.
Rey Fenix continues to be booked like an afterthought despite being an elite athlete both solo and in tags. Do something with him. Use him.
Roman getting to win the Rumble after not showing up for months and “announcing himself” with a shitty premade video package while full-time talent gets ignored is exactly the problem.
Brock Lesnar (Because Unfortunately He Was There)
Fuck Brock Lesnar. Fuck Paul Heyman.
Having Brock no-sell Ilja’s chops ten minutes after commentary put Ilja over (with Miz literally saying they were the hardest hits he’s ever experienced) is terrible booking.
I’m especially mad about this because Ilja beat the absolute dog shit out of Gunther in NXT, who is canonically one of the biggest, baddest top dogs in the company.
Either protect Ilja or don’t use him. (To be clear: please use him.)
The Women’s Rumble & Crowd Behavior
Minimal pop from the sexist, misogynistic crowd for the Women’s Rumble was gross.
Chanting “overrated” at Lash Legend while she was being dominant is disgusting behavior. Lash was one of the strongest performers in either match.
Fuck Twitter for being mad at Rhea Ripley for “not putting over younger talent.” Rhea is 29 years old. She IS the younger talent. The only person she’s wrestled recently who’s younger than her is Roxanne. Admit you’re a hater and move on.
I hope Bianca is pregnant or something happy because no shot a finger injury takes her out this long with zero explanation.
Saudi Show + Presentation Issues
Doing all this propaganda-level production for Saudi shows and then still having the ring and stadium absolutely littered with sponsors is disgusting. It kills immersion and makes the entire thing feel like a moving billboard.
Also: entrants felt like they were coming in way too fast. I didn’t time it, but the spacing felt off and it hurt the flow of both matches.
Bloodline Tunnel Vision Is Going To Backfire
One of these days LA Knight isn’t going to renew his contract and Triple H is going to realize he made a massive mistake wasting years of organic momentum, money, and booking power funneling everything into one family storyline.
At Least We Got Some Wins
Because I’m not completely miserable:
I’m glad Sol Iron Womaned.
I’m glad Lash had the most eliminations.
I’m glad Nattie got a rebrand.
I’m glad Alexa and Charlotte are still intact.
I’m happy for Liv.
I’m glad The Rock didn’t show up.
I’m glad Pat McAfee didn’t show up.
I will miss AJ.
Final Thought
The Royal Rumble should reward attendance, performance, and weekly contribution. The roster is too stacked to keep pretending part-time appearances are more important than building the future.
Do better.
There are very few TNA talent on actual paid salaries, alot of talent are on PAID PER APPEARANCE deals, so not allowing talent to take indie dates is fucking ridiculous.
SRS has said that someone like Dani Luna was more than happy to get her release as she was barely getting paid, so expect more releases soon from TNA.
What a shit show, what an absolute shit show.

I love how much shine the NXT/TNA talent got on Saturday Night's Main Event
I love hearing Lilian Garcia announce Oba Femi, Sol Ruca, Zaria, Je'Von Evans, and Leon Slater.
I love hearing a SNME crowd chanting for Oba. We got "Let's go Oba" chants in a match against CODY RHODES.
I love Oba being booked to put Cody through HELL (even though Drew McIntyre was obviously gonna interfere).
I love seeing the reactions to Sol Ruca's athleticism from a crowd of people who probably haven't seen it before.
I love that Sol is still doing moves I've never seen, even though I watch NXT every week.
I love that SOL WON ON SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT!
I love Zaria's outift.
I love seeing the reactions to Leon Slater's athleticism from a crowd of people who probably haven't seen it before (more of them have probably seen Je'Von since he's been on SmackDown a couple times now, and was there the night before SNME).
I love the "This is awesome" chants following Je'Von's O.G. Cutter.
I love seeing all the main roster vets show love to the NXT talent after the matches.
I love the whole arena singing "I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY!"
Such a great night for NXT. I absolutely love it.
