Under the Mistletoe | Taylor & Leonie
Taylor hit the call button as he pulled up outside of Leonie’s mom’s house, switching off the ignition and waiting for the dial tone to stop ringing. “Hey, Len. Merry Christmas. So I got some Christmas gifts for your family... and I figured I’d take a cue from Santa and get them to you by Christmas Eve. I’m outside... and I may need some help bringing them all in. Think you can help?” he asked, getting out of the car and opening his Range Rover’s hatch just in time to be greeted by Leonie and her little brother Jonathan.
“Hey, kid! Merry Christmas!” he exclaimed, giving him a big hug. “Think you can carry your sister’s presents in?” the hockey player grinned, loading up a few boxes into his hands. They weren’t particularly heavy, but there were enough of them that they reached far over the kid’s head. “You sure you’ve got them?” Tay chuckled, watching the kid bound up the front steps and inside, leaving him alone with Leonie for a moment.
“Hey,” he breathed, his smile sweet and sincere. “Merry Christmas, beautiful,” he added, shifting his weight from foot to foot a little nervously. “....Can you take a few of Jon’s gifts? Sorry, they’re kind of big. I just don’t have enough hands for them,” Taylor explained, loading up Len’s arms and then his own before following her inside. “Merry Christmas!” he greeted their parents as they entered the cozy abode. “I’m Taylor. It’s nice to meet you both.”
