Josh and Leo!

I made another version of this picture of Josh and Leo and I really like it!
Josh and Leo!
I really enjoy this ship; I headcanon that they meet because Josh is helping Leo study so he can go back to school, and it goes from there. Leo’s got rough things to go through, and Josh has been hiding and fighting for his life just to be tossed into the spotlight. They’re both adjusting to change, so why not take it on together?
More Leo/Josh:
- Leo finds that Josh can sing while he’s playing the guitar and Josh joins in.
- Leo’s guitar used to belong to his mother but she gave it to him.
- Josh is working on a book about the android fight for freedom. Leo’s mother is a photographer and they end up collaborating.
- Leo is so proud of them both.
- Josh was nervous meeting Leo’s mother, Samantha. And Leo was mortified by her showing baby pictures.
- Josh is fascinated by the pictures of this tiny person who grew over the years.
- Carl likes Josh before he even meets him just based on what Markus has to say, and enjoys having long random discussions with him. It’s good for Carl and for Josh both.
- As Leo spends more time with Josh, he realizes that he wants to help in any way that he can. If nothing else, he’s always there to talk about Josh has a long day in negotiations supporting Markus, but eventually Leo will become an outspoken android advocate.
I like the jar images because a jar can trap something beautiful, or it can make something beautiful easier to see clearly.

Leo suffers from migraines, and a particularly bad one ruins his plan to ask Josh out. But sometimes the best painkiller in the world is the one you expect the least.

Josh and Leo!
Another variation on my Josh/Leo one.
I thought about Leo playing the guitar in front of Josh and he starts singing a song and Josh knows the song so he sings along and it’s such a beautiful moment. Leo didn’t know Josh could sing. He knew Josh read every book he could find, knew that Josh was writing a book, knew that Josh wistfully talked about learning swing dancing, but didn’t know he could sing.
Eventually, Leo takes Josh to meet his mother. He’s so nervous. But Samantha is accepting. When Leo goes off to the bathroom, you bet your ass she gets that book of baby pictures.
Leo is sort of horrified like “mom why are you embarrassing me?” But Josh looks at these pictures of this little tiny life that would grow to be this man, and he’s fascinated. Fascinated by the history, the memories, the progression. Such a tiny life that learned and grew, that crawled, and walked. She had videos of when Leo started talking. Little Leo talked a lot, about everything. About dinosaurs, rocks, music, birds. Little Leo saw a girl hurt in the playground and hugged her.
Josh didn’t understand the concept of a life like this, because he’d just been born as he was. There was no photo documentation of that life, it just was.
Samantha points out that maybe that could change. She takes some pictures of Josh, then takes pictures of them on the couch together. At first they’re stiff, awkward. Leo is rolling his eyes and apologizing for his mom.
Josh reaches over and touches Leo’s cheek, and he freezes, meeting Josh’s gaze.
“There it is,” Samantha says quietly, snapping the shot.
Over the years she’d capture so many more, a chronology in pictures. From those first awkward photos to years down the road when Josh falls asleep in Leo’s lap and Samantha brings him a cup to tea because he can’t move.
Leo’s mom is a wonderful woman who had once let her infatuation with an artist change the course of her life. She doesn’t regret it, and she doesn’t want Leo to have regrets, either.
