there is NO SUCH THING as murder that can be considered ‘child’s play.’ not even the most mundane, thoughtless, messy crime scene can be called childish, of all things. still, some cops and forensic analysts will often refer to a homicide as such, because the ‘work’ is so poor. they SHOULD be called ‘crimes of passion’ when they lack the etiquette of a ‘professional’ serial killer, if you will. and besides, children don’t (usually) commit murder! it’s almost strictly an adult, or at least a young adult, pastime! so why in FUCK’S name is deb staring at a kid who can’t be older than fifteen years old, covered in blood, with an apparent victim in his grasp? ❛ put your hands up! right now! ❜ debra barks, her stereotypical cop facade never slipping, not even in a situation such as this one. the other officers behind her falter. even in MIAMI, such a scene is horrific. so much blood. a mutilated corpse. and a child who, at first glance, seems responsible for it all. but deb does not hesitate. ❛ take your hands off of the body and put them where i can see them! ❜ something already seems.. off about this. she feels it in the deepest part of her gut. dexter is the one with the hunches, but debra has DETECTIVE in her blood. and this crime scene is all wrong. ❛ do what i said! now! ❜ ----- @leosole
