Mr. O'Brien, a respectable irish leprechaun, who prefers to drink ale and apple cider rather than poteen. He respects and appreciates women, which is important, as you understand:) He has a wonderful sense of humor and brings good luck!😁
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Lucky me found a leprechaun’s stash! Mom says leprechaun gold has magical properties. If I put all this shiny gold into the leprechaun’s hat, will the shiny gold be magicked into yummy noms?
Leprechaun Hat Keychain Pattern
My blog has been looking pretty barren so I thought that I should get at least one pattern up in here! This is a very quick and easy project to finish - it took me about 15 minutes to complete.
The finished hat is approximately 1 inch tall and 2 inches wide (brim to brim). I have not included where to attach your key ring, as it is up to you. You will need small amounts of green, black and yellow/gold yarn (worsted weight), a 3.75 hook, stitch marker and a tapestry needle to complete this project.
Glossary Sc = single crochet Inc = increase (two single crochet in one stitch) Dec = decrease (invisible or single crochet two stitches together)
Pattern
1. Starting with the green, magic ring, then sc 6 (6)
2. [inc]x6 (12)
3. [inc, sc]x6 (18)
4. In the back loops only, sc 18 (18)
5. [sc, dec]x6 (12)
6. Sc 12 (12)
7. Switch colour to black, then sc 12. (12)
8. Sc 12 (12)
9. Switch colour back to green, then in front loops only, [inc, sc]x6 (18)
10. [inc, sc 2]x6 (24). Single crochet one or two more past your stitch marker to even out the brim, then fasten off.
11. Using your yellow/gold yarn, thread a tapestry needle and create a square for the buckle. Mine is about 2 stitches across/2stitches tall.
Enjoy!
Edited to add: If you want to stuff your hat with a bit of polyfill, use some more green yarn and MR, sc 8 to create a small circle, then sew into the bottom space.
