Spencer Reid is either the most oblivious person alive, or really good at pretending like he doesn't know that he's driving you absolutely insane.
It was 7pm in the evening, the team had just gotten back to the office from a long, difficult case. Everyone was worn out and dragging their feet against the beige carpet of the BAU; except for one Dr. Spencer Reid, who had been looking at you attentively with one arched eyebrow ever since you landed.
You had sustained a minor bruise on your right side from a tussle with the unsub, and despite the team of medics back in Philadelphia who checked you out for any more serious scrapes and bumps, Spencer didn't seem to believe that you were as fine as you said you were. Somehow, you had agreed to let him conduct his own medical examination, and so you were lying stomach down on the floor of the bullpen.
“Reid, this is ridiculous-” Reid cut you off with a glance and an uncharacteristically amused glance. “You know, you should really be more careful, you know, bruises, also known as contusions occur when the capillaries get damaged, causing the blood to leak and get trapped under the skin,” he stopped, drawing in a sharp breath when he realises that you and Morgan, who is stretched back on a leather office chair with his arms behind his head, are both staring at him with a grin.
He coughs. “Anyway, it's important to make sure there isn't anything more serious, '' he mutters, rubbing the back of his neck and glancing down at his sweater vest self-consciously.
You rolled your eyes and resigned yourself to the mildly discomforting prodding at the hands of Spencer Reid that would inevitably follow his abashed awkwardness. You close your eyes and stretch back, stifling back a yawn - jolting awake at a curious prod at the bruised spot on your right side, just below your ribs. “Are you okay? This bruise must be worse than I thought, you could have an accumulation of blood under the issue, uh hematomas can be really dangerous and can causes severe pain or swelling.” You feel the heat creep up your neck and settle on your face - truth be told, you were really fine. Just ridiculously, unbearably… sensitive. God, if the team ever found out about this you would be subjected to even more teasing and ridicule than you already are as the youngest, newest member of the BAU. “Are you okay? Is something bothering you?” he asks, a smile tugging at his lips. You trip over your words for a second and pull your hands down; “No no really, I’m fine, just- Spencer really I’m fine!”
Reid made a noise of confusion as you groaned, wishing the floor would swallow you, so you wouldn't have to tell Spencer how you were so ticklish you couldn't stand ten minutes of single handed prodding and poking - pulling you from your train of thought, morgan says “Pretty ricky, I believe that someone has a ticklish little problem,” at this, Reids face split into a grin.
“Youre saying this is bothering them? When I do this?” he asked, with a falsely pensive expression on his face as he spidered a hand up each side of your stomach, sending you into a fit of giggles. Between laughter, you say “Spencer! Please no!” before his evil scratching at your ribs sends you back into your hysterics.
“You know Reid, I think you should probably finish the examination, they seem to be in distress,” Hotch says, walking through the bullpen, glancing at your writhing, blushing figure on the floor as he walks through the doors of the BAU with a tightlipped smile.
You're never going to live this one down.
