Meist wird über, statt mit Sexarbeitenden gesprochen. Wir erscheinen polarisiert als glückliche, privilegierte Hure oder ausgebeutetes, stummes Opfer. Das von Sexarbeitenden geleitete Kollektiv Objects of Desire bietet Menschen in der Sexarbeit eine Plattform, um ihre Geschichten zu teilen, zu archivieren und so wichtige Nuancen in den Diskurs zu bringen. Das Erzählen über Objekte lenkt den voyeuristischen Blick ab und fokussiert auf das, was erzählt werden möchte.
In diesem Workshop stellen wir euch die Arbeit des Kollektivs vor und bringen ausgewählte Gegenstände des Archivs mit. Wir umreißen die größeren Themen, die im Archiv vorkommen, und tauschen uns im Anschluss mit euch in einer moderierte Fragerunde aus. Einen besonderen Fokus möchten wir auf die neuere rechtliche Situation seit dem ProstSchG sowie den fortlaufenden Corona-Maßnahmen legen.

Der Workshop wird auf englischer und deutscher Sprache mit Übersetzung stattfinden.
Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie kann in diesem Jahr leider nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Menschen an unseren Veranstaltungen teilnehmen, damit es für alle Beteiligten ein sicherer Ort bleibt. Insights in the work of the collective ‘Objects of Desire’

Sex workers are often talked about rather than with. Sex workers are mostly framed in the binary of either happy, empowered hookers or exploited, voiceless victims. The sex worker-led collective Objects of Desire serves as a platform for us and other sex workers to share and archive our stories, and to bring nuances to the conversation. Telling stories through objects that we encounter and use in our work shifts the voyeuristic focus from the individual to the stories we decide to share.
In this workshop, we want to give insight into our collective’s work. We will present selected artefacts, give an overview of the issues in the archive, and invite you to a discussion with Q&A. A specific focus will be the legal situation in Germany since the 2017 ProstSchG § and the drastic regulations since Covid19.
The workshop will take place in English and German with translations between the two languages.
Due to the corona pandemic, only a limited number of people can take part in our events this year, as it is important to us to create a safe place for everyone involved. Since this year's kju_point will largely take place in the premises of the "Lernwerkstatt", the Covid-19 hygiene protection regulations of the Martin Luther University in force at this time must be complied with.
