uh I actually shortened this a lot because I could always just write another chapter or something If you wanna do that
After another hard day of cleaning, Levi finds himself exhausted. He does a check of cleanliness before finding a couch to sink into. It'd have been a few days since he learned of the death of his squad. Since then, he's been putting himself in overdrive. There was not a single speck of dirt that had any power against him.
The rest of the group had been watching Levi run himself ragged, getting sleepless nights, and forcing himself to bleieve that nothing had happened. It almost drove everyone else insane.
Of course, they were doing little things here and there to make his life a bit easier. Things like; making sure their beds were made, that the dishes were washed, and that they didn't track mud when they came inside.
When they knew he was asleep, they'd do their best to creep around and stay quiet. That was easier said than done for people like Hanji, who frequently had a hand clapped over here mouth. If Levi were to happen to wake up, they'd all prefusely apologize and head outside to find something else to do.
Even Commander Erwin did his best for Levi. Whether it was working hard on the war field, or coming to HQ to rake leaves, or clean higher up windows. Whatever Levi needed. Anything.
Of course, 'anything' earned a new boundry. 'Anything' turned into long hugs. Long hugs turned into tentative kisses. Tentative kisses lead to real kisses. So on and so forth, until the two were side by side in the same bed, legs tangled together, and faces flushed.
One night, as they laid together, listening to each other's gentle breaths, Levi lets out a small sigh. Erwin's eyebrows raise and he glances down.
There was another pause of silence before Erwin speaks softly, asking what's wrong. Levi shrugs and looks up, resting his chin on Erwin's chest, a ghost of a smile tugging at his lips.
"Obviously something's wrong, otherwise you would have said otherwise," Erwin gently runs his hand down Levi's spine, in hopes of soothing him a bit. The smalle man sighs again, and leans up, sharing a quick kiss.
"I was just thinking about us." He looks down, a barely visble blush running across his features. Erwin's eyebrow shoot up again, and he looks a bit confused.
"Well...? What about us, Levi?" His hand roams back up to Levi's shoulders, then down again. Back and forth, almost lazily.
He smiles a bit more and leans up, pressing a kiss to his lips. This makes Erwin smile as well and nip at his lip. "Well. Tell me, why don't you?"
"I was just wondering what life would be like without you."
"And what do you conclude?"
He just smiles, and shakes his head, pressing another kiss to his lips. "I just love you, Erwin."
Erwin nods, smiling away. "I love you too, Levi. How about some sleep?"
He nods and wiggles down under the covers, yawning softly. "Goodnight, Erwin."
