Days 4 and 5 in Chantilly

Was too tired to blog last night.

This'll be brief-ish, 'cause I frankly don't feel like blogging haha.

Yesterday was great. I had work and I saw Les Petits Appartements for the first time, which is the part of the château where the Prince and his family actually lived. It's very high security and you have to have a finger print to get in. The tour was in French by one of my super awesome colleagues, Gauthier, but I understood most of it. It was so beautiful and so amazingly cool to see where they actually lived, nearly 200 years ago. Def my favorite part of the museum.

I went for a long walk around the grounds with Shira during lunch. We explored and it was suuuper gorgeous out. Like the absolute perfect weather. I had the French version of a "hot dog" for lunch....God everything is better here! Also I had my first macaron. IT was lemon flavored and quite tasty.

Yesterday was Brian's birthday as well, so we bought him a little cake and sang him Happy Birthday! Then last night I went to the Horse Races at the Hippodrome with some coworkers and my family. The quartiers of Chantilly were each represented, and ours is La Connétable. We wore orange, our color, to show our pride and support!

Mona :) ma petite

I had a DELICIOUS AS SHIT ham, cheese, and tomato panini at the races. It was to die. Then after my friends left I had a picnic with my family and ate sooo much. On the walk home Mona was playing games on my iPhone and I had to guide her with my hands on her shoulders because she was so glued to the screen!

My God was it gorgeous out.

Ok on to today. I did some researching at work, and talked politics a lot with Gauthier and Shira. I hung around with some other coworkers, too, and for lunch attempted to have a picnic under a tree but it was hella windy so that was a no go. I went on one of Gauthier's tours of the Grands Appartements in the afternoon, and then just trolled around until work was over. Then I tried to go to the grocery store but it was closed. And on my way back to the house, two different groups of men cat-called at me and called out things in French to me that I couldn't understand. Interesting. For dinner I had blue potatoes (didn't know they existed! the color is gorg) that the family raised in their very own garden, and they were delicious. I also had some Gazpacho, which was very good but I only ate a bit and gave the rest to McKenzie. Then, I met up with Shira and Sebastian to watch the Euro Final at a bar in town! We all wanted Spain to win, and they did, by quiiite a lot! 4-0. It was a pretty uninteresting game haha. But it was very fun!! Afterwards, the French were celebrating by honking relentlessly and driving up and down the streets with everyone leaning waaay out of the car cheering, and there were several cars that had someone leaning out of the sunroof with a Spanish flag as a cape, cheering of course. It was a riot. So much fun. We cheered with them whenever they passed. Such a cool night!
