Valois / Jodoin (Les Sinners, Merseys) "La Vieille École"1976 Canada Prog Pop Rock
"La Vieille Ecole" (1976) deValois-Jodoin.On remains in the nebula of the Sinners of the 70s, Alain Jodoin (ex- Merseys also) and Daniel Valois being well illustrated.Jodoin has already said in the interview consider that with the Sinners it did not really quite fit, but with Valois-Jodoin it was much more satisfactory. A good balance in my opinion, especially if we compare the solo albums that followed, "The morning musicians" Valois, pretty blue flower and granola, and "Le Coq" Jodoin, and his tavern humor. (Ahah)....~ A great record. It's really like the sequel to the famous Sinnersdiscs of 71, 75 and 76. We find among others the duo Alain Jodoin and Jocelyne Berthiaume, the latter signing most of the texts of these albums, as well as the same producer, Louis Parizeau. No wonder the same musical signature is heard. This is a good pop rock tinged with humor. Alain Jodoin finally recorded a solo album in 1978 (Le coq), , surrounded by musicians other than those with whom he had worked with the Sinners,Beauregard-Violetti-Ste-Claireand Daniel Valois. ...~ Credits Bass, Voice – Alain Jodoin Clarinet, Flute, Voice, Acoustic Guitar, Mellotron – Daniel Valois Drums – Richard Tate Electric Guitar – Denis Violletti Piano – Richard Lauzon Producer – Louis Parizeau Tracklist A1 Bonne Nuit Beaux Reves 2:34 A2 Incognito 2:20 A3 Mon Pipi Dans Ton Affaire 2:36 A4 Lemonstre Occis-Mental 2:22 A5 Chez Mary-Ann 3:00 A6 Dans Un Parc 4:21 B1 Clarinette 2:07 B2 L'Escalier 3:20 B3 Je N'Sais Pas Comment Faire 2:28 B4 Ca Relaxe 3:03 B5 Mon Ami 3:30 B6 Longtemps Is Coming 4:00
