King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard ’Live In Athens '25' was recorded when the Aussie psych-rock polymaths rained down on Athens' historic Lycabettus Theatre for a three day residency over June 4th, 5th and 6th 2025.. This resulting 9LP box-set was recorded from the desk by the band’s sound crew and is exclusively mixed and mastered from the stems by James Plotkin. Each of the three shows is pressed up as a triple LP on 180g coloured vinyl in a trifold jacket - featuring Jason Galea's artwork and live photos by Makayla Guthrie (exclusively licensed for this release) and Maclay Heriot and artwork - with poly-lined inner-sleeves. Musician from Nassau County, NY (USA), born in 1954. Michalis Tzanetakis started in 1968 playing modern rock songs with the band Spartans, but he soon learned Greek repertoire to meet the needs of the Greek diaspora concerts. In 1972 he wrote music and lyrics and recorded the songs “Sweet morning/Καινουργια μέρα” and “I don’t know what I’m going to find/Κοριτσι μου”, which he dressed with psychedelic rock music and recorded in a small studio in Brooklyn, playing guitars and vocals on successive channels, in a direct reel to reel recording. These two songs were released in 1972 by Peters International and are an excellent example of Greek-language rock. In 1974, after the Spartans disbanded, with the addition of MAD drummer George Michaelides, bassist Takis Spitambalous and jazz pianist Bob McHugh, they founded Medoosa. Medoosa's repertoire at the famous New York jazz night club "Ali Baba East" where they performed, included a mix of Greek rhythms with rock and jazz improvisations as well as classic jazz repertoire, causing a sensation in jazz circles and musicians, as a result of which they were asked to open for Chet Baker and Art Blakey's concerts at the same club. On 18/08/1975 they crossed the threshold of the legendary Electric Lady Studios (Greenwich Village, N.Y.), which had been built by Jimi Hendrix in 1968 and under the guidance of sound engineer Dave Wittman they would record 6 tracks for the album that would be called “Ali Baba night”, attracting the interest of the record label Perception Records, which would sign a contract with the group, but would never release the recording. Οι Gazuama Sinchartchas είναι ένα πρωτοποριακό συγκρότημα το οποίο εμφανίσθηκε στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’70, φτιάχνοντας έναν δύσκολο όσο και προσωπικό ήχο, επηρεασμένο βαθύτατα από τα αντίστοιχα διεθνή μουσικά κινήματα του Krautrock αλλά και της ψυχεδέλειας. Συμβαδίζοντας απόλυτα με τις τότε μουσικές τάσεις αλλά και με έμφυτη την διάθεσή τους για πειραματισμό με ελληνικά folk στοιχεία, πριν διαλυθούν μας παρέδωσαν ένα μοναδικό όσο και έξοχο δείγμα της τέχνης τους, με την μοναδική τους δισκογραφική καταγραφή το 1972 σε ένα 7’’ single με τίτλο "Ανύψωση-Αποτίναξη-Εκφυγή". Η B-otherSide Records με χαρά παρουσιάζει την επανακυκλοφορία του μοναδικού αυτού single σε μορφή 12" με 4σέλιδο ένθετο το οποίο περιέχει την βιογραφία του γκρουπ και σπάνιο αρχειακό και φωτογραφικό υλικό προερχόμενο από τα μέλη του γκρουπ. Στην Α πλευρά καταγράφονται τα δύο tracks "Ανύψωση-Αποτίναξη-Εκφυγή" Part 1+2 στην μορφή που είχαν στο αυθεντικό single του 1972. Στην δεύτερη πλευρά το ηχογράφημα παρουσιάζεται όπως είχε αρχικά ηχογραφηθεί στην πομπίνα του master, δηλαδή : A) ως ενιαίο κομμάτι, Β) με παραπάνω ηχητικό υλικό, Γ) με το δεύτερο μέρος (Part 2) να προηγείται του πρώτου (Part 1) και Δ) κατόπιν πρόσθετης επεξεργασίας στα φωνητικά, τα οποία έγινε εφικτό με την χρήση της σύγχρονης τεχνολογίας, να ανακτηθούν σε ξεχωριστό κανάλι και να επαναμιξαριστούν, ώστε να γίνει εφικτή η ακρόαση των στίχων....~ Gazuama Sinchartchas is a pioneering band that emerged in the early 1970s, creating a difficult and personal sound, deeply influenced by the respective international musical movements of Krautrock and psychedelia. In full compliance with the musical trends of the time and with their innate disposition for experimentation with Greek folk elements, before disbanding they gave us a unique and excellent example of their art, with their only recording in 1972 on a 7’’ single entitled “Anyssosis-Apotinaxi-Ekfyghi”. B-otherSide Records is pleased to present the re-release of this unique single in 12" format with a 4-page insert containing the band's biography and rare archival and photographic material from the band members. Side A features the two tracks "Anyfosis-Apotinaxi-Ekfughi" Part 1+2 in the form they had on the original 1972 single. Side two presents the recording as it was originally recorded on the master reel, namely: A) as a single track, B) with additional audio material, C) with the second part (Part 2) preceding the first (Part 1) and D) after additional processing of the vocals, which was made possible by the use of modern technology, to be recovered on a separate channel and remixed, so that the lyrics can be heard. Released in 350 numbered copies....~ Το ελλη­νικό ροκ δεν ήταν μόνο οι πρω­τερ­γάτες του, αλλά και κάποια αφανή συγκρο­τήματα που με ένα και μονα­δικό άλμπουμ ή με ελάχι­στες ηχο­γρα­φήσεις έγρα­ψαν τη δική τους ιστο­ρία, ακόμη και αν ανα­κα­λύπτο­νται σήμερα, πενήντα και παρα­πάνω χρόνια μετά τη δράση τους. Short Biography Los Tre is an Athens-based trio formed in 2011 by Angelos Angelides (guitar), Vassilis Papastamopoulos (electric bass) and Leandros Fratnik (drums). The band has performed at many venues and festivals around Greece and has shared the stage with artists such as Thodoris Rellos, Angelos Polychronou and Jim Staridas. Their homonymous first album was released in 2014. Επανεκδόθηκε σε cd ο ιστορικός διπλός δίσκος βινυλίου 'Αυτοσχεδιάζοντας στου Μπαράκου' των Σάκη Παπαδημητρίου - Φλώρου Φλωρίδη που πρωτοκυκλοφόρησε το 1979 ηχογραφημένος ζωντανά στο jazz club του Μπαράκου στην Πλάκα και ήταν η πρώτη κυκλοφορία δίσκου σύγχρονης τζάζ στην Ελλάδα. Την προσεγμένη έκδοση σε cd επιμελήθηκε ο Φλώρος Φλωρίδης και κυκλοφόρησε η J.n.d re-records και διανέμει η A&N records. Lia Hide is an Athenian singer/songwriter, producer, music educator and performer. Her music is dark, avant garde, art pop. She is a music educator, teaching popular music vocals and musical theater, a classically trained virtuoso pianist and a self taught bass and guitar player. She is currently writing a poetry book and the music her next album. Lia Hide has released 5 solo studio albums: “Home” [EMI-Universal, 2013], “Everyone Seems to Know Who I Am” [DontHideMe, 2017], “Tells no Fairytales” [DontHideMe, 2019 – vinyl by B-OtherSideRecords], “The Missing Fourth Guest” [Conch Town Records, 2022] “Aristophobia Nervosa” [with the kind encourage of the Institute for Experimental Arts & digital release by Orchard, 2025 – physical release (vinyl) and global distribution by Second Records, Austria] a Remix album: “Fairytales Remixed” [Amour Records, 2019] and music for the Dance drama “ΓΕΝΟΚΤΟΝΙΑ” by Pavlos Kourtidis (2019) “GENOCIDE” by Idalgos Records. Lia Hide has had an early but prolific recording past in the Greek Electronica, with numerous releases, albums, collaborations and compilations, both Greek and International : as a topliner, recording and performing singer she has been featured in Global Underground and La Suite Compilations and has performed with Backini, as well as MTV’s opening ceremony in Athens. Lia Hide has performed 5 multi dated European tours to date, having performed 16 countries and more than 50 cities, so far. BASS : Aki’Base is an electric bass and double bass player, born, raised and still living and loving in Athens. He started music at an early age (piano) and is a self taught bass player. He studied Decoration and Interior Design and also Photography at Petra Technical School of Arts. He worked as a freelance decorator and contractor for private customers as well as retail shops (Aristi Italiani) and as an assistant photographer for Andreas Smaragdis. Before joining Lia Hide he was a session and recording bass player for many established artists in Athens (Dimitris Dimitriadis, Elisabeth Karatzoli, Christina Gollia, Fenia Christou and more). Since 2005 we worked as a stage technician and stage manager for theatrical productions and television series, documentaries and short films, including King Lear with George Kimoulis staring and producing, at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, under the direction of Thomas Padur. He has also worked as a stage manager and technician for concert festivals and tours (Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Womad Festival, Release Festival, European Music Day and more. He met Lia Hide in 2015 and has since devoted his energy and skills solely to this project. He is also the band’s driver and stage technician. DRUMS : George Rados was born, raised and lives in Athens. He started music at his teenage years as he started playing as a self taught drummer in school bands. He later moved to Italy to study Wine and Food Science and Technology where we got involved in the local music scene in Parma. Upon his return in Athens he formed various bands with Lia Hide, also taking part in various musical projects. He further studied Sound Engineering and Music Technology at Technical School AKMI and private drums lessons with Paul Moraites. He also studied advanced harmony and cello at Ars Nova Conservatory. After graduating he composed music for documentaries and tv series and become further involved in the Athenian music scene. He is a member of Fool in the Box (power trio) and has played with Moka Band, Gaultier Velissaris, Nomik, A dog Named Rodriguez and more. He has collaborated with Lia Hide in various projects before embarking on their focused career and discography, in 2013. He is a drums’ teacher at Contemporary Music School Acharnai, and is working as a freelance sound engineer and technician for studio Kyriazis Athens, as well as video art and theatrical productions and music festivals.

Vibes of free-spirited jam sessions purr through the air, a splash of Mediterranean jazz and the pulsation of sweat-inducing Afro-beats drift through your head as you hurtle along the promenade on the saddle – the sound of COLLIGNON is always summer, and that’s a good thing. Γιάννης Βογιατζής, μόνος, ψάχνει… Σημαντική πρόκληση, συχνά αναγκαία να απαγκιστρωθείς από τις καρφωμένες συντεταγμένες ενός σχήματος, ακόμα και αν αυτό είναι οι σπουδαίοι Need, που έδωσαν τη δική τους ώθηση στην μοντέρνα prog σκηνή της χώρας πέρα από τα σύνορα. Βέβαια, οι άνθρωποι που συγκεντρώνουν πολλά ερεθίσματα στο δημιουργικό τους σακούλι, κάποια στιγμή θα κοιτάξουν μέσα σε αυτό για να δουν ποια απωθημένα έχουν ξεχάσει. Μακριά λοιπόν από τον συνήθη νόμο της βαρύτητας και πολυπλοκότητας των Need, η φωνή τους αποφασίζει να αφηγηθεί ευθυτενείς ιστορίες και να ανοίξει αυτά τα μικρά κουτάκια στο μυαλό του. Έχοντας μια αυθόρμητη, σχεδόν αναγκαία επιλογή να απλοποιήσει τη μεταφορά των ιστοριών του και την έκφραση όλων αυτών των προσωπικών στιγμιότυπων, είναι μονόδρομος να ακουμπήσει στις αλάνθαστες, μαγικές συνταγές μεγάλων τραγουδοποιών του ευρύτερου rock χώρου. Άλλωστε η μαγεία των σπουδαίων δημιουργών ήταν πάντα η αυτόνομη δύναμη της σύνθεσης, η αξία του συναισθήματος, πέρα από τα πολλά τερτίπια και παραπετάσματα. Και ο Γιάννης τα καταφέρνει περίφημα. Μας υποδέχεται με το ρυθμικό “Little Boxes” και πέρα από το γλυκό ταξίδι σε χωροχρόνους αγαπημένους, νόμισα πως είδα τον Sting με τον Copeland να χαμογελούν με νόημα, την ίδια στιγμή που οι στίχοι συγκρούονται με την ευδαιμονική διάθεση, δημιουργώντας έναν ενδιαφέροντα συνδυασμό. Από την άλλη, το “Undecided” είναι ξεκάθαρα η σειρήνα του άλμπουμ, ένα λυρικό, άμεσο τραγούδι απόδρασης, από αυτά που δεν βρίσκεις το παραμικρό που θα άλλαζες πάνω του, με βεβαιότητα ο πιο συχνός σταθμός του άλμπουμ. Την αρμονική σύμπραξη των οργανικών θεμάτων με τα φωνητικά αναδεικνύει αισθητά το “3 Days 60 Nights”, με τα χρώματα στη γέφυρα και το ρεφρέν, ενώ το rocker “Call Me When You ‘re Drunk” με τα funky βέλη του ανεβάζει αισθητά τις εντάσεις, πιο μποέμ και αλήτικο, πιο πλάνο και αυτοκαταστροφικό, και με το άγγιγμα του Ravaya, κιθαρίστα των Need. Το μάτι του Γιάννη κλείνει στον μεγάλο David Bowie, στο έξυπνο “ tribute or not” “Minor Tom”, ένα φορτισμένο, αντιπολεμικό τραγούδι με πάθος, πίκρα και βάρος. Οι τόνοι χαμηλώνουν μαζί με το φως της ημέρας, όταν το “Streets of Athens” αναλαμβάνει να αφηγηθεί τρυφερά και ανθρώπινα την οικουμενική πραγματικότητα της μοναξιάς της “μητρόπολης”. Την ίδια σκυτάλη αρπάζει και το “Angela”, με τα βιωματικά στιγμιότυπα να καρφώνονται στη μουσική που κορυφώνεται ζητώντας μια στιγμιαία βεβαιότητα. Είναι βέβαιο πως η διαδρομή του δίσκου είναι ένας προσωπικός εξορκισμός και το ομότιτλο είναι η οριστική επίκληση γι’ αυτόν, για την αγάπη να διώξει μακριά τα τέρατα που παραμονεύουν κάτω από το κρεβάτι. Σκόπιμα λιτό και απογυμνωμένο, δίνει χώρο για μια ιδιαίτερη προσέγγιση από τη φωνή του δημιουργού. Ίσως και να είναι απλά η ιδέα μου, αλλά στο τρυφερό φαλτσέτο του κάπου ξεπήδησε ο Nick Cave του “Ghosteen”. Γιάννης Βογιατζής, μόνος, ψάχνει και βρίσκει λοιπόν… Με λίγη βοήθεια από τους φίλους του, για να κλέψουμε έναν τίτλο από το “Αφεντικό” που τόσο δείχνει να εκτιμά, άνοιξε τα κουτιά του και απελευθέρωσε μουσική ειλικρινή, ευαίσθητη, άμεση και οικουμενική. Άλλωστε, οι αγωνίες των ανθρώπων που δεν διστάζουν να κοιτάξουν μέσα τους, είναι κοινές σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο...Γιώργος Γεωργίου......~

Η Maria-Christina Harper γεννήθηκε στην Ελλάδα και έχει αιγυπτιακές ρίζες. Παίζει ηλεκτρική τζαζ άρπα και είναι συνθέτρια. Σπούδασε άρπα στην Αθήνα και συνέχισε τις σπουδές της στη Βασιλική Ακαδημία του Λονδίνου. Είναι κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου στη Μουσικοθεραπεία και διδάσκει στο Πανεπιστήμιο Roehampton. Έδρα της είναι το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και έχει εμφανιστεί με τον Jools Holland στα BBC2, BBC6, BBC1, KEXP και στο Φεστιβάλ Τζαζ του Μόντρεαλ. Στο Λονδίνο έχει επίσης εμφανιστεί στο Royal Festival Hall, στο 606 Jazz club, στο Roundhouse και στη National Portrait Gallery. ARS MORIENDI is the 4th dreamweapon vinyl release. Regarded as the end of an anachronic circle, initiated in 2016 with Rites of Lunacy, 2018 with SOL and now concluded. Recorded between the end of the pandemic lockdown and the beginning of the Ukranian invasion, Ars Moriendi may be the darkest dreamweapon production to this time. Ars Moriendi, as referred in the late Middle Ages Latin texts, offers protocol and procedures to a good death. It is a messenger of hope, as you take control of the past, by acknowledging it and accept it, you take control of the future. Compromising of four long pieces delivered on the dreamweapon method: minimalism, repetition, improvise; each one of them featuring a collaboration with the “dreamweapon aeternal khoros” *; each one of them referring to a different stadium in preparation: innocense – suggestion; dance macabre – awareness; the kiss – acceptance; profundis – embodiment. Bibiano Adonis Morón Giménez, known as Bibiano, born in Santiago de Compostela on December 21, 1950, is one of the greatest Galician musicians and composers of all time. His musical career began in 1970 (his first concert took place that same year at the Opus Dei school La Estila in Santiago), during the final years of the Voces Ceibes collective. These were the dying days of the dictatorship, and Bibiano, deeply committed to the Galician language and land, joined the collective, which fought to elevate the language and denounce the socio-political situation. Bibiano came into contact with Benedicto , Miro Casabella , Suso Vaamonde , and many other committed musicians. Although he sympathized with folk music , his approach was far more innovative and open than that of his peers. He greatly admired musicians like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Janis Joplin, and soon began experimenting with progressive rock with a clear Anglo-Saxon influence. Throughout his career, he developed a sound that straddled the line between folk song and contemporary rhythms. He was responsible for introducing percussion and electric instruments to Galician song , which until then had been characterized by acoustic rhythms. This, as with Dylan in his time, earned Bibiano the incomprehension and scorn of those who failed to appreciate his immense talent. In 1972, he included " A campan " on the album "Cerca de Mañana" ( Gravación Universal , 1972), a compilation of songs from the Basque Country, Catalonia, Galicia, and Spain, featuring artists such as Lluís Llach , Pablo Guerrero , and Benedicto. The LP was released in France to coincide with the "Solidarity and Art" exhibition presented at the Milan Contemporary Art Show. From 1974 onwards, large-scale performances began, with those given by Bibiano alongside his close friend Benedicto being particularly successful . Two dates stand out in the calendar: March 2, 1975, the day the manifesto “Movemento Popular da Canción Galega” (Popular Movement of Galician Song), signed by most of the committed musicians, was published, and June 25, 1976. On that day, Bibiano and Benedicto gave a recital at the A Coruña Sports Pavilion as part of a tribute to Santiago Álvarez, imprisoned in Carabanchel Prison along with Santiago Carrillo and other communist leaders. The atmosphere, emotion, and tension of that recital were captured in a clandestine recording that could only be obtained with great secrecy. In 1992, El Correo Gallego recovered the famous recording of the recital on the cassette “Benedicto e Bibiano (En Directo)” (El Correo Gallego, 1992) . This launched the Fonoteca 92 collection and includes six of the nine tracks from the original clandestine recording. Bibiano contributes “ Can de palleiro ”, “ Samba para mocidade ” (Celso Emilio Ferreiro) and “ Amador e Daniel ” (Uxío Novoneyra), while Benedicto contributes “ Dorna ”, “ Pola unión ” (Celso Emilio Ferreiro) and an adaptation of the folk song “ Nosa Señora da Guía ”. Together they also presented the show “Agora Entramos Nós” in Madrid and Barcelona. These events marked the end of decades of silence and the beginning of a new era in which Galician song developed freely within a framework governed by freedom and professionalism. During these years, he maintained a close friendship with Benedicto, performing together and participating in each other's recordings. Thus, Bibiano participated in the recording of Benedicto's album "Pola Unión" (CFE, 1976) , and Benedicto in Bibiano's first album, "Estamos Chegando o Mar" (CFE, 1976) . This album, produced by Alain Milhaud, is considered the masterpiece of the Santiago-born musician. It's an exercise in tradition and modernity that remains relevant despite the passage of time. Bibiano set to music the verses of the poet Uxío Novoneyra in " Amador e Daniel " and of Vázquez Pintor in " Os Orfos ." On December 28, 2016, the brilliant Galician musician passed away in Vigo....la fonoteca......~

Review by Fercandio46 Formed in 2007 and hailing from the post-hardcore scene, the Spanish band Toundra emerged as a breakout act in Spain's underground scene and performed at the 2010 Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. The proposed sonic experience begins with "Bajamar," alternating between staggered bursts of distorted guitars and harmonic passages, with the drums providing effective accompaniment in both sections. You can feel the psychedelia; you can sense the raw, rocky texture. While the band cites Pelican, another act in the genre, as an influence, I also detect elements of Mogwai. "Pleamar" unfolds in a calm, pleasant manner, albeit in black and white, and the guitar work reminded me of Mike McCready from Pearl Jam. It is on "Medusa" that the quartet truly comes together as a unit, fully utilizing the dual- guitar lineup; one can discern the two distinct paths being traced, sometimes intersecting, other times running parallel. At times, Esteban Jiménez's guitar stands out, almost seeming to speak or gasp for breath. I also detect influences from the Badmotorfinger era of Soundgarden. "Órbita" bridges psychedelia and post-rock like a desert storm, full of lightning and thunder but devoid of rain, a dry storm, where Alberto Tocados's bass plays a pivotal role, providing the counterpoints of tension and calm that link the tempestuous passages together.
