YAYYYY DR. CRANE IS BACKKKK (๑>◡<๑)!!! I hope you’ve had a nice break and I’m happy to see that your hair has grown back!
I’m the anon who asked about the PsyD thing, and I was wondering if you perhaps had carved some jack-o-lanterns for Halloween! I’m assuming the answer is yes because… you know… you made a haunted house, so I would assume there were pumpkins involved. If yes, what did you carve in them? I would show you mine, but alas, I can’t send you pictures 😔.
Also, as an unfortunately very skittish person (I might as well be a horse), I’m glad to hear somebody finds it “charmingly entertaining” instead of just annoying 😭.
Eh, mostly I left that to the boys. Such is youth, they oughta get to wield a big knife and have a go at some gourds - we live in an apartment, so space to put things out front's limited, sadly.
I had a li'l squash I drew something spooky on in sharpie on my desk at work, but didn't crack that one open on accounta I didn't want it to rot in a closed space over the course of the month, but the spirit was there.
Naw, most of what I did for the haunted house was medical horror. You know - doctoring ballistic gel corpses with theatre makeup and fake blood and perfume so the whole place stank of decay and disease. Piss, blood, and vomit. Carefully poised unsanitary-looking old sharp surgery implements poised to begin some grim procedures, creaking and jittering and sometimes humming to life as people passed by..
Recruited ol' Craddock for some tortured screaming and shrieks of pain and belabored pleas for help, to stop him, please somebody stop him.
Shifting walls of cloth and hospital partitions that I both spent my time rearranging, and personally stalking through in archaic surgical gear, humming and chuckling to myself, the one bright spot of immaculate pristine cleanliness and surgical sterility in the entire blood-spattered suite, popping up where people least expected. Asking if they had an appointment.
Really terrible lighting throughout. Spotlights on scenes of grisly pain and agony, getting the ghosts to help things move and twitch and wail, and floor lighting so folks won't trip, but not much else.
Sold a few tee shirts, too, people wanted to commemorate making it all the way through.
