Basic instincts are to eat regardless of circumstance and situation... . . Speaking with @robbythelord about his vintage store @parisiandandyshop as well as his style taught me just a little bit more about having an acute personal-style and how to wear my own confidence. Finding out that he’s of Congolese descent, we spoke about a group called #LeSapeur men and women of the DRC and their life and style choice of dressing in bold suits of the highest designer markets, even though they live in poverty. FUNK IT! It's Friday

First up, lets ease into the weekend. Let me just say XL records is hipster musical heaven. If you're a nerdy musician armed with a drum machine, a keyboard, and an Apple computer, it's your life's goal to sign with XL records. Not to take the light from their other artists (to be explored another day). But, Jai Paul would be their next big thing, if anybody knew what he was doing. Enjoy the second of his two indie R&B sexy hits.

Next up, Solange, baby sister of Beyonce. Lil Sis gots moves. And a knack for 80s love songs. And an afro that rivals most tumbleweeds. And ridiculously fab friends. The video was shot in the Congo, where French fashion embedded itself in the 70s/80s.  Since then, outrageously colorful and tasteful garments have deeply rooted themselves in the Le SAPE (in American..."Society for People of Elegance and Ambiance)culture in the Congo. After watching the vid, you're going to end up at a Goodwill trying to track down every piece of neon bright suits. Ironically you'll probably end up looking like Hillary Clinton. You're winning.
