“the backgrounds are completed with whimsy in an abstract fashion, focusing on the interplay of shapes and textures. Much later I find the composition of florals, what speaks to me in terms of texture and color, and I apply that in one ala prima session on top of the background. I like seeing how the reflective, synthetic quality of the acrylic gives contrast to the natural luminosity of the oils” -Leslie speaking on her creative process
