I actually post there already - my fics get posted on AO3 first because I have a weird thing about editing. I like to do it on their site because reading it in a different space (IE not in Scrivener or Word) helps me read things differently and finds problems easier?

I don’t post things that much in advance there, though. A couple hours, if that. But it might be easier to find stuff on AO3 than here because frankly my fic pages on tumblr are a bit of a mess and a pain to keep updated since I NEVER STOP WRITING. Anyway, that’s more info than you needed, but… :)

Lionhearted Part 3??

Hi nonnie.Long story short, maybe later this week. It exists pretty much in my head at thispoint. It is at the top of my priorities, but I have a lot of projects going onright now. (I totally blame my brotp: the shy unicorn.)

That said, Ihave been meaning to post a list of my WIPs for over a week, just to give everyone an idea ofwhere I am at, fic-wise. So here are the things I have going on right now:

Two differentassignments for the ACOWAR exchange because someone already bailed so I amdoing an extra (not going to say what my plans are for them bc it might spoilwho I got, but… I have plans).

Mesta?Maybe? I already started this and I’m definitely going to be late for femslashweek but I may have… lost my inspiration for this one. (I think I’mgoing to work on this tonight, or at least try.)

Hey nonnie, I know this ask is kinda old (sorry about that) but… I certainly can do that! It will be a while, because many, many wips. But I did jot this one down (or… made a thing for it in Scrivener with general ideas, but you get my point) and so will work on it eventually!

*Filth that I adore, btw, thanks everyone for your ideas, I’m definitely going to push myself and do some of the more… interesting ones that we never see in the sjm fandoms. ;)

I didn’t know what I wanted to do until a couple of years in, which is super bad for student loan debt. I was really stuck in the classic conundrum - do I choose something that will make me money, or something I will enjoy? I choose enjoyment, and am lucky that I can pay the bills with that, tbh.

I think the moment I decided English (instead of pre-pharmacy, bc pharmacists make a shit-ton, y’all) was when I was registering for chemistry classes and was like… looking longingly at the classes being offered by the English department. And I was just… yeah. Like obviously that’s what I was meant to do.

And for writing - read a lot. I’ve read a lot my entire life. Other than that, I dunno? I’ve always had a thing with words - it’s one reason I learned French so easily.

Hi dear, thanks for the questions

38. What do you struggle with when it comes to writing? Probably dialogue is my least favorite thing. I feel like it either works or it sounds completely fake. From my perspective, anyway. So if it’s going well, that’s great. If it’s not… I have a hard time working around that.

39. What is easy for you to write? I don’t know if I’d say there is anything that is easy, at least all the time. Or reliably easy. Probably nothing. But I always have the easiest time when the scene is really clear in my head? It’s like… it’s happening without me having to do anything? That’s when it’s the easiest, and when it comes out the best. But that’s not a specific thing, and that’s definitely not all the time.

26. Do you prefer writing fics based in canon universe/canon-divergent universe or complete alternate universe? Why? I think my first preference is to be canon compliant, so writing in the canon universe. Because the reason I started writing fic was because I wanted to understand the characters better and see them in situations that had been mentioned in canon, but not shown. So I like to write more about side characters who we don’t get to see as much. The only feysand things I’ve written have been requests for this precise reason.

I’m starting to branch out more, though - Lionhearted is a modern AU, which has been… a lot more fun to write than I thought it would be? I think I’d only do AUs for a specific purpose. And really a modern AU would probably be the only one I would do… And the reason I actually made the nessian fic a modern AU was because the prompt was tied to a contemporary cultural reference (”the hills are alive with the sound of bullshit”), so I thought, how can I use that appropriately if the setting is Prythian? That would be weird. So I decided to change the setting so the phrase would relevant or at least so it would make sense for Cassian to say something like that, since, you know… The Sound of Music probably isn’t a thing in Prythian.

But speaking of canon, I’m starting to want to write things that take me outside of that, a bit. *coughMestasmut* This isn’t really what the question is asking, but just in general I’m more likely to try different things than when I first started.

TL;DR - I prefer canon universe first, but I’m having some fun branching out from that.

45. What is your opinion on Rec Lists? Have any of your stories been recommended? If so, how did that make you feel? Not that I know of? Besides people saying very nice things and flailing at me in their tags/comments/reblogs? I mean, sounds like a nice thing to be a part of?

Hi nonnie, thanks for the ask!

1. How long have you been writing fanfiction? So… not long. At all. I know some people have been doing this for years and I have not, but I have been really lucky and received really positive feedback so far? And it’s kind-of…embarrassing how short of a period of time I’ve been doing this? So um… like… 5 months. :D HOWEVER - I teach academic writing, and I have always enjoyed creative non-fiction. So it’s not like I just sprung up out of nowhere and… started writing fics? But I recently reread the first one I posted in January (told you, not long) and was just… ugh. I want to rewrite it because I really like the premise and a lot of the headcanons, but… cringing also happened.

TL;DR I started writing in November-ish, and posting in January (this year).

25. Where do you get your ideas for your stories? Usually they come from wanting to see something from canon from another character’s perspective, or from wanting to see how they would react in a situation that we don’t get to see in the books (e.g. me wanting to see Mor greeting Az after missions, or their first meeting). My meta and fics are actually closely related in that way - it’s just me trying to work out my thoughts and feelings. And sometimes I just… want to write smut. :D I’ve been writing mostly prompts & requests for over a month now, though, so when I get those I just get an image in my head of a character saying the dialogue, how they feel while saying it, and then… take it from there. Try to figure out how they got to that point, or how they will move on from it.

46. Whom do you admire in your fandom (for whatever reason)? What makes those people stand out to you? If uncomfortable naming people, what traits of those people stand out to you? I don’t read as much fanfic lately, but I have a core of people who I pretty much read anything they write. This is for various reasons, but mostly they are fantastic writers and make me feel all the things. This list will not be surprising at all, but: @illyriantremors @kitashiwrites @highfaelucien @valamerys and @pterodactylichexameter. Although I am not reading the AU moriel terminal illness fic that was just posted. I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. :))) I want to branch out a bit from them, but also… I know I’ll like whatever they produce, and I frankly don’t have as much time for reading fic when I have a good 15+ wips myself.
