Feeling a bit like death warmed over today, so I decided to make tea and a grilled pbj sandwich.
Only it's me. Of course I need to add embellishment. I am a Hernandez after all.
Putting the kettle on to boil I realize we have no cream or milk. No problem! We have a handy can of Readi-Whip in the fridge! Just squirt a goodly amount of that into the bottom of the cup and the hot water will melt it giving you not only creamer, but SWEET creamer meaning less sugar usage.
Now you think a grilled pbj would be simple. It was. But it was too simple.. Too plain for my death warmed over self today. So I decided to add a nice layer of Ghost Jelly to the bread before slathering on my copious amounts of Boysenberry Jam. Ghost Jelly is jelly (obviously) not made of ghosts, but of Ghost PEPPERS. So It's fucking hot. I love it. You only need a very thin layer to taste the surprising sweet and spicy flavour of it. It goes really well with other jellies/jams/preservatives as well IMO.
Also, don't forget that extra crunchy peanut butter is the best and gives your sandwich a "full" feeling. Now toss it in a pan like you're making grilled cheese. Only when you take that first glorious bite it's not cheese or a patty melt of some sort...
It's glorious peanut butter and jelly NIRVANA.
