Today had been incredibly tiring, to say the least. Secret Tale had never been so happy to be home. But before she allowed herself to sit down and rest, she brought out a pitcher of lemonade and two glasses-- one for herself, and one for Shadow Protector, who she had invited inside after he walked her home. She set the pitcher and glasses down on the coffee table, shoving a few books out of the way to make room.
"Thank you for walking me all the way back." Secret Tale said gratefully.
She smiled, but it was a little half-hearted. Her first lesson with Shadow Protector had left her completely exhausted. Was this what all of his lessons would be like? Was it really worth it? Maybe she should just forget about this whole thing and--
No. She had made a commitment, and she was going to stick to it. Or try to, at least. Speaking of commitments...
"So, ah... I guess I lost our bet. And you said the loser would owe the winner something." She paused, wondering what she might have gotten herself into. "What did you have in mind...?"
That was probably a question that should have been asked before agreeing to the bet. Oh well. Too late now.
((Iaruk is such a doof.))
