Ahh to the last anon: I feel the exact same way! This is my first year at college and all of my friends are home for christmas. They've been telling me these stories about how much fun they're having and it really makes me feel like I'm the only one who's not at all having a good time. Anyways I realized how much happier and more comfortable I am when I'm at home so I decided to stay home next semester. I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all!! If it makes you happier then who cares
I know this may not quite be the same, but your sentence “my friends are home for christmas and have been telling me these stories about how much fun they're having and it really makes me feel like I'm the only one who's not at all having a good time” instantly made me think of an article that I don’t think I’ll ever forget. It’s long, but worth a read:

If you’re unhappy, tell someone, get some support, and make a change. You don’t have to be brave or strong or put on a happy face or try to do things the same way others do. Life is meant to be lived the way you want to. <3 <3
