Prompt 5 Martin Riggs - “October ain’t October until someone has their head stuck in a pumpkin.” he was watching parks and rec.

‘What the hell have you done?’ You asked when you saw Riggs with the bright orange pumpkin on his head. ‘It’s stuck.’ He said, as he tried to get it off his head. ‘We’re not even six days into October yet.’ You said as you looked around, to see if you could help him. ‘October ain’t October until someone has their head stuck in a pumpkin.’ He said, his voice muffled by the pumpkin that that was around his head. ‘What were you thinking?’ You asked, he shrugged. ‘I saw it on Parks and Rec.’ He told you proudly. ‘So you decided to go get a pumpkin, carve it out and then force it over your head?’ You asked him, he looked at you through the eyes holes that he had carved into it. ‘Yes, I will admit that I was drunk at the time.’ He said, exaggerating more with his hands. ‘And you aren’t now?’ You asked him, he shook his head. ‘No, cause I cant get the bottle through the hole.’ He said, pointing to the mouth hole. ‘Well what do you want to do?’ You asked him. ‘Wait until it rots?’ He questioned. ‘Are you out your mind?’ You asked, but quickly stuck a hand up when he went to say something, ‘No never mind, I have my answer right in front of me.’ You told him.

Involved

After a shift you babysit Harper for Murtaugh and end up taking care of Maya as well, but you don’t mind as you gain secrets about Cole, whist relaxing. Characters – Maya, Harper, Murtaugh, Cole, Reader. Word Count – 1844

‘What are you doing here?’ Murtaugh asked, when he saw you sitting at his desk, your leather jacker hanging over the back of your chair as you rotated the seat back and forth, in small motions. 'Finishing the paperwork.’ You said, you looked up from the work and looked back down before looking up again, seeing Harper behind him. 'What’s little Harper doing here?’ You asked, she smiled and walked over to you and you lifted her up, sitting her on your lap. 'Schools shut down so I have to watch her.’ He told you, you pursed your lips. 'Don’t you have a case?’ You asked him, he nodded. 'I’ll watch her then.’ You told him. 'Are you sure?’ He asked, you nodded. 'Of course, I think we deserve a well needed girl’s day.’ You told him, he gave you a bright smile and nodded. 'I’ll be in contact with you.’ He said, you nodded before he walked away, and you pilled your paperwork up together. 'Let’s go.’ You said to Harper, she smiled at you before you lifted her up before looking up you meet Cole. 'Morning.’ You said, he nodded. 'Why are you stealing Harper?’ He asked you, you rolled your eyes at him. 'I’m babysitting her. So we’re going to have a girl’s day.’ You told him, smiling at him and Harper. 'Well enjoy, I’d love to get my nails down with you.’ He said, both you and Harper smiled at him. 'Well if you finish in time you can join us.’ You said, be nodded before you

'Cole.’ You answered your phone. 'Do you still have Harper?’ He asked, you closed your eyes at his bluntness. 'Yeah, why?’ You asked him. 'Do you think you could watch Maya as well?’ He asked, worry in his voice. 'Sure, where is she?’ You asked him. 'She was at the hospital but -.’  He said. 'Okay.’ You cut him off. 'I’ve told her to get a cab.’ He finished his sentence, your jaw dropped. 'What? Phone her back and tell her to wait there I’ll come and get her.’ You told him, as you grabbed your keys. ‘Are you sure?’ He asked, ‘Cole, she thirteen you’re not making her get a cab.’ You told him before hanging up and sliding your phone into your pocket and pulled out the space and headed towards the hospital.

'Maya, right?’ You asked the blonde girl that was sitting on the plastic chair, looking bored. 'Yeah.’ She said, you gave her a soft smile. 'I’m Y/N, has your dad told you that your coming with me?’ You introduced yourself, she nodded and stood up. 'Yeah, I better go and tell mum that I’m going.’ She said, you nodded. 'Of course.’ You said and watched as she walked the short distance and talked to a blonde woman who nodded and looked up, you gave her a wave and she started walking over to you. ‘Hi, are you Y/N?’ She asked, you nodded. ‘Yeah, you must be Natalia.’ You said, she nodded and smiled at you before looking down at Harper. ‘That’s me. Thank you for taking her.’ She said gratefully, you shook your head. ‘It’s fine, more food and movies now.’ You told the two girls, they both nodded.

'So you’re the person that my dad keeps on talking about.’ Maya said, you rose an eyebrow as you looked at her, Harper wriggled her fingers in your hand. 'He talks about me?’ You asked. 'Yeah.’ She nodded her head. 'What does he say?’ You asked her, as you opened the door to your car for her, before opening the on behind it and sliding Harper into her seat. 'That’s you’re an amazing detective and he admires you.’ She said, you shook your head as you fastened Harpers seatbelt and shut the door. 'Oh I think Cole has a little man crush on me.’ You said, she smiled and you made sure everything was in before shutting her door and moved around to your side and climbed in. 'So what do you guys want to do, I have movies, nail polish and make up or we can bake something.’ You asked the pair of them. 'Make up.’ Harper said, you looked at Maya and she nodded as well. 'Make up it is then.’ You said before doing your seatbelt and started the car.

'Welcome sir, to the fabulous make up emporium what would you like?’ You said motioning to the two girls who, were displaying the make up on their faces that you had done, but Cole looked at yours. 'I want that.’ He said, pointing at it. 'Great choice, Madam Harper and Madam Maya will be your artists, if you take a seat.’ You said, motioning to the couch, Cole walked over and the door was knocked again. You headed over and opened it, smiling when you saw Murtaugh who looked at you make up and nodded. 'Murtaugh.’ You said, stepping aside and let him in as he walked through to the living room, he looked at the 'Dad.’ 'Would you like your make up down?’ You asked him, he shook his head as he watched the two girls sit either side of Cole. 'No thanks, I’m going to watch Cole.’ He said, you took a seat next to him as Cole shut his eyes and let the girls do their work. When they had finished they moved out the way so Cole could sit up, he let out a groan as he turned and looked at you and Murtaugh, both of your snorted before covering up your mouth and smiling. ‘Girls, that is fantastic.’ You said, getting high fives from the pair of them. Murtaugh had already took his phone out and was snapping pictures as he just continued nodding, before putting his phone away again. ‘Harper, we should get going or mummy is going to be annoyed.’ Murtaugh said, as he stood up picking her up before turning to you. ‘We better get going as well.’ Cole said, you shook your head. ‘You guys are willing to stay over tonight if you’d like.’ You told the pair of them, Maya looked hopeful at Cole who looked at you. ‘We don’t have any clothes.’ He said, you shrugged. ‘I have some old clothes that Maya can sleep in and I might have some left-over clothes from ex’s for you.’ You told him, he looked at Maya who was giving him puppy eyes. ‘Fine, it’s okay with you.’ He said, you nodded and Maya cheered.

‘Maya?’ You said tired, feeling that someone was watching you. ‘What are you doing in here?’ You asked as you looked at her in the old t-shirt she was wearing. ‘I had a nightmare.’ She said, you sat up and rubbed your eyes. ‘Oh sweetie, do you want me to get your dad?’ You asked her, she shook her head. ‘No, sometimes he has them as well, but his are memories not make believe.’ She said, you nodded before lying back on your bed and patting beside you. ‘My parents always told me there’s a reason why we have nightmares.’ You told her as she climbed into the bed getting comfy beside you. ‘There is?’ She asked, you nodded. ‘Yeah, sometimes were scared of something, that could be spiders or heights, but other times,’ You ran a hand over your face, ‘Sometimes we trying to figure something out but putting it to the back of our mind during the day.’ You told her, as she turned and looked at you, you raised an eyebrow at her. ‘Is everything okay with you?’ You asked her. ‘Yeah, I’m just worried about mum and dad.’ She told you, you turned onto your side and faced her. ‘Why?’ You asked. ‘They love each other but mum’s marrying Peter and dad isn’t doing anything.’ She told you ‘You’re sacred that they’re going to forget each other when they move on?’ You asked, she nodded. ‘I’ll tell you now that won’t happen, because they have you.’ You told her, as you pointed at her. ‘They love you so much that your mum is willing to put up with your dad’s crazy schedule and accept him again.’ You told her, she nodded and fought a yawn. ‘I think you should try and get some sleep.’ You told her, she nodded before moving to get comfortable and so did you, both of you unaware that Cole was standing the other side of the door, listening to the pair of you. ‘Y/N?’ She asked. ‘Yeah?’ You said quietly. ‘Do you like my dad?’ She asked you, you nodded, the bed shaking slightly. ‘Yeah, he’s a nice man and a great friend.’ You told her. ‘No, I mean do you like him like him?’ Maya asked you, Cole listened to the silence and the rustling of the sheets. ‘He’s too involved with your mum just now for him to like anyone like that.’ You answered the question, Cole’s brows furrowed as the room fell into silence. When he heard the bed moving, he quickly moved away from the door, as you pulled it open. Shocked to see him standing in your hallway, dropping the hand from your chest you looked at Cole. ‘Everything okay?’ You asked as he took in the oversized t-shirt that you were wearing, along with your hair in a messy bun. ‘Yeah.’ He said, you nodded before walking towards him, he moved out your way as you gave him a small smile before making your way down the stairs. ‘I’m not too involved with her.’ He said, you were at the bottom of the stairs, you stopped and turned and looked up at him. ‘What?’ You asked, he looked at your bedroom, where he saw Maya lying on the bed. ‘I’m not too involved with her that I can’t like other people.’ He told you, you lowered your head before looking back up at him. ‘We’ll talk about it in the morning.’ You said, pinching the bridge of your nose as your phone went off, you swore quietly as footsteps made their selves known, holding your phone Maya appeared at the top, next to Cole. ‘Chuck it please.’ You said, holding your hands up, Maya flung it over the edge and you caught it. Answering it and placing it up to your ear. ‘Yeah, where? When?’ You asked, you shook your head before you rubbed your hand over your face and nodded. ‘Alright.’ You said before hanging up. ‘Everything okay?’ Cole asked, you nodded as you let out a sigh before climbing back up the stairs. ‘Yeah, just got a case.’ You said, he nodded and turned to Maya. ‘You can stay here till morning.’ You told the pair of them as you reached your door. ‘Are you sure?’ He asked, you gave the pair a tired smile. ‘Yeah, I trust you.’ You told him as you stepped into your room and closed the door behind you.

Countdown

Prompt 25 Wesley Cole - ‘’I’m freezing, you’re warm. Hug me”

You and Cole had been walking around all day, holding hands and bumping shoulders together as looked at the stalls in the Christmas market. As it got darker, the cold decided to make it’s self-known and wrap itself around you. Cole looked away from the large Christmas tree when he felt you move closer to him, along with your rubbing your arms. ‘Everything okay?’ Cole asked as you turned around to face him, you wrapped your arms around him, sneaking your arms under his jacket. ‘I’m freezing, you’re warm. Hug me.’ You told him, he smiled before wrapping both his arms around you, you rested your cheek on his chest as he swayed you back and forth slightly, his warmth chasing the cold away as you waiting for the announcement to start. ‘I love you.’ He said, you smiled and looked up at him, resting your chin on his chest. ‘I love you too.’ You told him, he smirked at you before his attention was brought to the stage behind you. ‘You’re going to miss the countdown.’ He said, jutted his chin towards the stage, you pouted he quickly bent down and pecked your lips before your turned around, but he kept his arms around your waist, and kept you close to his chest.

Lost

Prompt 24 Wesley Cole - “How did you manage to get us lost in a corn Maze?" 

‘How did you manage to get us lost in a corn maze?’ You asked Cole, he looked around at the dead end you had hit, again. ‘I’ll just break my way through.’ He said, moving closer to the wall of corn, you outstretched a hand. ‘No, don’t, someone worked hard on this and you are not going to wreck it.’ You warned him, his shoulders slumped. ‘You could go on my shoulders.’ He suggested, you shook your head. ‘Then that would be cheating.’ You pointed out. ‘But, we’re lost.’ He said, motioning around you, you pulled a face. ‘We could use google maps?’ He said, you shook your head. ‘It won’t have it if its yearly.’ You pointed out, you watched as he frowned before you grabbed his hand and started walking back the way you came. ‘What are you doing?’ He asked, following you. ‘If we can’t get to the middle, we can leave.’ You told him, as you went back towards the entrance, remembering some of it.
