He’d disobeyed orders. There was no denying that. However...no matter what the Commander said, he would not leave Wall Maria without his Captain. He proved that he was not a force to be controlled, and he would never follow every order given to him.
He would never abandon his comrades.
The scouts had retreated, for the horde that attacked them were too much, especially with Levi MIA and the rest of the Special Operations Squad too injured to fight. They would pull back to Wall Rose, and probably hope Rogue came back to them.
A foul smell assaulted him as he pushed further into the forest he had once called home; it was the furthest out they’d made it. A quick sniff and he recognized it. Human blood. It was fresh, too fresh, and his ears moved out of sync to pick up sounds. Giving up that fruitless effort, he pushed towards the strong smell. It wasn’t getting any staler. Whoever was bleeding was still alive.
He let out a roar as he came to where it was strongest. It was all along the floor of the forest, but where was the source? He fruitlessly scanned the grass and dirt, letting out an irritated grunt when he couldn’t locate it. Moving bushes didn’t seem to help at all.
