‘ Here. Take this. It’ll make you feel better... ’
Says Hale’s friend that she’s met earlier tonight. Yeah, she knows that this will make her feel better. Why else would she be wasting her time, talking and laughing and getting close to him when she really doesn’t many of her actions? When the pain settled deep within her psyche, Hale makes a million excused to cave in. It's a problem that’s just too easy to solve. Get your fix, get your fix, get your fix. It’s a broken record though that’s too loud to ignore. Hale takes whatever he’s handed her and allows it to dissolve on her tongue without a second thought. A temporary cure for the never-ending search of comfort.
Minutes, possibly a few hours go by - Hale can’t find a grasp on reality, but whatever she was on, - the music, the people - every single sound became too loud for Hale to bear, and she’s become increasingly irritated. It makes the hairs on the nape of her neck rise. It causes the bones to rattle and skin to crawl. She suddenly hates it in the house she doesn’t know how she ended up in. Weren’t they just in a bar? Fuck. The vampires pushed herself off of the couch she felt like she was drowning in and stumbles to the front of the house and out the door, ignoring whatever protests are being yelled at her back.
Hale welcomes the sharpness of the cold air. For a moment, she thinks she has her head on straight. That is before she goes to take a step down the porch and nearly trips down the stairs. If it weren’t for her reflexes, Hale would have fallen face-first onto the lawn. The vampire walks, and walks, and walks. She doesn’t know where she is. She doesn’t know where she’s going. She’s just... Going. Somewhere. Anywhere. After what seemed like forever, Hale spots a figure in the distance and waves them down, “Hey, excuse me! Hey!” Hurriedly, she begins jogging after them. It doesn’t take long to catch up. “Hey, uh - Sorry to bother you, but what - Ah, what part of town am I in?” Hale asks, scratching the back of her head and squints her eyes, despite there being no shine of the sun.
