Blues and purples can both manage property!  In many countries owning land only has to be blue if you’re charging rent (or tolls or whatever), which means it can be cost-effective for purples to own their own factories, warehouses, truck garages, and sufficiently large stores.

Blues and yellows overlap a ton in government.  The nation of Tarolee has actually stopped bothering investigating reports about out of caste income when the complaint is about a yellow doing work too similar to their blue supervisor’s.

OK! The distinction I’m familiar with is sightly different, but I’ll trust your understanding of Catholic doctrine (which is certainly a more valid way to draw a distinction than my own nebulous sense of things)

Well, I’m not a Catholic, and I don’t think it’s a hard and fast formal definition - I only brought it up because I couldn’t think of another case where the distinction would really be relevant, otherwise I think people use them pretty much interchangeably. I’m not saying I have the objectively correct definition, just trying to explain what I meant.

A vow of no sex does seem more relevant than a vow of no marriage? Though I suppose celibacy generally comes with chastity so if you never want a sexless marriage that works too.

I’ve only ever seen the two terms specifically defined in the context of Catholicism, where chastity refers to the practice of only engaging in licit sex - that is, only in the context of a valid marriage - and celibacy refers to a state of total abstinence from sex. A married person having sex with their spouse is chaste, but not celibate. You’re right about what I meant by the distinction, but it’s consistent with the word I chose.

Today’s dose of pointless pedantry: I suspect a vow of chastity might be a little more applicable response than one of celibacy.

I don’t think marital vs. non-marital sex is really the relevant distinction here
