@heartlanded
LETSSSS GOOOOO
@syrvses
In the aftermath of destruction, we must all find a new purpose. We must position ourselves in such a way that we could conquer the world. We must find a way to fashion what has been broken into something new, into something better. We must make friends of our enemies and curse those we once loved. We must make do with what we have been left - even if that’s a broken heart and a shattered sense of pride. In face of defeat, Victoria instead turned towards fury. She would walk with her head held high and a look of beautiful destruction that would tear down the stars and change the world. One battle had come to its bitter conclusion, but around her, the war continued to rage. Above all, she was a player - and refused to count herself out of it yet. After all, she had lit the burning match that had brought their worlds crashing to their side. How could she leave now?
Perhaps it would have been simpler to rob Caiden of what remained to him. To take the ones he called soldiers and remodel them for her own specific purpose. Given time, she could have brought this anguish to a rather amicable conclusion - and crowned herself. But to do so would be to prove him right. To do so would be to betray what she had built. And yes, in truth, there was a little part of her that didn’t want to rob him blind because she craved his forgiveness. Because, perhaps, deep down, it knew their story had not yet reached its final chapter - that there was more to come. It defied logic. It defied everything she had ever known and all she had ever stood for. But still, it stood. Which was why she found herself at the gates of another Empire, at the foot of another King. That was why she came to the man she had sworn her enemy, but who had once been something resembling a friend.
He was here. She knew he was here - having teased it (or intimidated it) out of the man he called security - a person who had pledged, rather naively, she thought, his life to Syrus’s. Uncanny. How many others were willing to fall at the feet of another? How many would give their lives - the purest thing in possession - for another? Their dedication startled her. Their loyalty was beyond logic. And yet, where ever she looked, it chose to persevere. How odd. Perhaps there were more lessons she was destined to learn yet. Heels clicked against the floor as she stepped in, eyes scanning the vast empty expense before her, looking for any signs of trouble. Although he was not a man of notable violence, shooting the person you assumed to be your enemy made sense. And he was in possession of a wildcard or two among his throng.
“Hades.” Addressing him by his nickname, deferring respect, Victoria shouted loud enough for both heaven and hell to hear. “I come waving the white flag.”
the truth is out there

Truth be told, he feels a little bad about lying to his mother. But she just wouldn’t get it, she’s never seen this sort of thing as anything but comic book fodder, no different from any other made up monster. He’s never told her about the strange dreams, because what do dreams matter when there are real, everyday problems to deal with?
But Bailey believes him. Bailey shares the same strange fascination, the same hope that maybe it’s all real. And when they’d told him about the downed saucer they’d heard about, suggested they go find it, well how could Finnegan turn that down?
So now here he is, walking up to the Diamond City gate with his rifle over his shoulder and a knapsack of supplies, enough to last them a few days at least. He’d told his family he’d be out two days, maybe three. Said he’d heard about some choice salvage, that he was going to go find it and take it in to sell. That’s... almost not a lie. Good enough.
As he walks up to the gate Finn glances around, wondering where Bailey is. It’d be funny if, after all the crap they gave him about being on time they were the one that was late.
Bucketlist.
