On the far side of a large kingdom there was a castle carved out of the side of the mountain. Once ruled by a king long dead, now was home to a serpent beast called a naga. Sephiroth was his name and he lived along in this castle. He had once belonged to the king until he killed him and the people fled, since then the naga hardly left his mountain home. Though he was still blamed for all the kingdoms troubles. If livestock had gone missing it was because of the naga, if people were murdered the naga killed them. Because of this, every so often someone would come to the mountain castle to try and slay him. It never turned out well for them. The naga would fight them and frighten them away, but he had not killed anyone since the king. Except for the poor soul who had fallen out of the window. Sephiroth hadn’t meant for that to happen, he just wanted to live in peace.
Inside the castle there were many torches lit for warmth as the stone got awfully cold, especially at night. Sephiroth was slow to stir because of the cold when he heard an intruder inside the castle. He uncoiled his long serpent body from itself and slithered out of the old king’s large bed. The naga ran his fingers through his long silver hair and went out to the balcony over looking the main area inside the castle.
“Why must you humans intrude so late at night? I was having such a lovely dream.” Sephiroth called out and laid his arms on the balcony then rested his head on them. “Instead of killing me I could bring you to the treasure room instead. Take however much you can carry, Isn’t any use to me.”
