Hey everyone, I know I don’t post much, but this is really important to me. My best friend, @latiyes has a dog and she isn’t doing too hot. Her name is Nahla and she’s literally the sweetest baby ever. My best friend posted on her GOFUNDME campaign and this is her story:
“On Feb. 7, 2018, I brought my dog Nahla into our local vet after noticing some extreme changes in her behavior. She was lethargic, wasn’t eating, had rapid breathing, and yellowing (jaundice) of her skin and eyes
Upon further testing, we were told Nahla had autoimmune hemolytic anemia (a condition in which her body is attacking its own red blood cells) and enlargement of her spleen. This is likely due to her epilepsy meds (Nahla has a history of seizures and takes meds 2x daily). She is very sick and will need emergency care – round-the-clock monitoring, medications, diagnostic testing, and a blood and plasma transfusion. She will have to stay in the hospital for 2-6 days
As you can imagine, this process will not be cheap. All in all, we will have to pay around $8,400 (the price was recently raised from the original $6,000 since her stay has been extended). Though I wish I had the extra money, this was an unexpected event that took our family by surprise, and unfortunately I was not prepared for a bill of this amount. I work only part-time as I go to nursing school full time, and I hate to ask for help, but I’m struggling to find the money to take care of my girl and to put it bluntly, I’m desperate
My dog is my entire world. She has so much life ahead of her, and I want to do everything in my power to give her the care I know she deserves. She has given so much of her life and love for me and my family. If you are able to donate, and feel it in your heart to do so, please know I am extremely grateful. If you are not able to donate, even sharing this post would help us immensely.”
They’ve been visiting her every day at the vet and she sends me snaps of how Nahla’s doing. Spreading this campaign around, donating to it, or a mixture of both would be so helpful right now. They need to meet their target by Tuesday, 2/13/2018 or else Nahla will be taken off of the necessary medication that is helping her with her autoimmune hemolytic anemia. My friend works part-time as a CNA and is also paying for her own schooling; her family is trying their best to help, but even then, the price for Nahla’s treatment is very high.
Nahla’s got a full life ahead of her and she’s fighting to survive, getting better little by little as the days go by! She’s got that fight in her. So, #LetsHelpNahla and spread this around! She’s a sweet dog who’s friendly, playful, and energetic. She’s got a wonderful personality and is my best friend’s entire world.
Here is her campaign; please help!
