My third drabble for Let’s Make Yusaku Smile 2019!

There were many things that Aoi loved about Yusaku, but his eyes were the one major part of him that took her breath away.

'Lets make Yusaku smile event' day one, prompt : Link

"hey Fujiki-kun, Zaizen-san, woah  is that a cyberse deck. Didn't know you were such a big fan of playmaker, eh Fujiki-kun..." The three of them were stood in the dimly lit classroom designated for duel club, as they did on every Wednesday. Today however, as all the other members were late, Aoi had challenged Yusaku to a duel, after all, dueling Yusaku had become much more fun recently; for both players. Naoki decided to watch. Yusaku really did suit  the cyberse deck he had started bringing to duel club, Aoi thought as He brought out yet another link monster, now using the extra link and preventing her from link summoning. She also noticed that he almost smiled as he defeated Naoki using firewall dragon. It was strange, before now She had hardly noticed Yusaku. He was just another one of the quiet guys who rarely said anything. They had always been polite to eachother, saying "hi" if they saw eachother sort of thing, but now it seemed as though they were almost friends. He always seemed... happier, and more alive almost. It was good to see him like this, as of course Aqua had told her that he was really Playmaker, and quite a while ago she had seen Akira and Playmaker had discussed what happened in the lost incident during their duel, so she knew the hell he had been through. She was certain that Ai had told him of her identity, and although they had never mentioned it, whenever Playmaker or Blue Maiden was mentioned, he did this funny little awkward smile at her, she could tell he knew exactly what she was thinking. He even blushed a little when Naoki asked where he got his code talker/ cyberse deck from, undoubtedly Naoki wanted one himself seeing as he liked Playmaker so much, but he just muttered something about getting it online and quickly changed the subject to why all the other duel club members hadn't shown up. They had been dueling eachother for nearly an hour now, school was over, and yet nobody else was there. As the three of them walked out of the now completely dark and deserted school Naoki  suggested they meet up in the vrains sometime, maybe try and get the other duel club members involved and make a little tournament. Aoi felt her face go red, she didn't want Naoki knowing her identity... let alone the whole duel club, PLaymaker knowing was one thing, but this was another, she was just about to say something when Yusaku spoke up. "yeah... sure man, sounds like fun... not like any of us got anything better to do right now. I've got most of the duel club member's numbers, so how about I text them and we organise this?" Aoi thought for a moment, thinking of how best to reply, maybe making an excuse for why not to, without directly saying no. Naoki looked really exited about this and even Yusaku seemed into it, so she didn't want to let them down on this. she muttered something along the lines of "maybe if i’m not busy... anyway i gotta go now... bye Fujiki-kun, Shima-kun". and hastily walked away from them. She was nearly back at her apartment when she got a text "honestly, surely you know better than anyone how to make a different avatar, miss 'Blue Angel, Blue Girl and Blue Maiden?'". She smiled to herself, maybe Yusaku was right.

Yusaku and Naoki walked together for a while, besides, they lived near eachother so it made sense. "Fujiki-kun", Naoki asked, "Honestly where did you get those link monsters earlier? Seriously you absloutely thrashed me and Zaizen-san back there... you didn't loose once...it was amazing and before you couldnt even make a decent deck and..." Naoki paused, noticing Yusaku's smile deepening, "it was the same as Playmaker's....". Yusaku laughed, it was strange to see. Naoki had never seen him laugh before, eventually he replied "well, Shima-kun, I already said I got them online didnt I? but thanks for the complement I guess... for a second I thought you were suggesting I was Playmaker... haha i know right." They continued to walk in silence, then they reached Naoki's house and said their goodbyes, promising that the moment they could they would meet up in the vrains. As Yusaku walked off he realized just how late it was, he must have spent ages talking to Aoi and Shima, he wondered if this was friendship, because if it is then damn friends are cool.

I’m in a sappy mood rn which is interfering with the thing I’m trying to write, so, have a really sappy datastorm proposal that’s not long enough to be an actual fic.

Actually, I’mma tag this as a late entry for the @letsmakeyusakusmile​ event. Since it fits both the idea of the event and the optional prompt ‘New Beginning’

Ryoken’s fingers were gentle as they trailed down the back of Yusaku’s neck slowly, his other hand resting in the small of his back and holding him close.

Yusaku smiled, his own arms wrapped around Ryoken’s neck as they stood on the balcony of Ryoken’s place.

It was so peaceful and quiet, and Yusaku found himself lost in Ryoken’s eyes, as silver as the stars that shone in the sky above and whose reflection glittered on the surface of the sea.

Yusaku stole another, soft kiss from Ryoken who smiled at him and cupped his cheek gently. “Yusaku...”

“Hmm? What is it?”

"I...Yusaku, my guiding light, my North Star, you once asked me to seize a new future with you, so now it's my turn to ask, will you seize a new future with me? Will you let my future and your future, be our future?"

Yusaku froze, his voice catching in his throat as he stared at his boyfriend, heart fluttering in his chest like a trapped butterfly. The only word that escape his lips was quiet ‘Ryoken’. Then, before Ryoken could say anything more he dug his fingers into his soft white tresses and crashed their lips together. The kisses before had been soft and gentle, though nonetheless passionate, but this was fervent and excited, Yusaku’s lips slotting themselves against Ryoken’s.

Ryoken tightened his grip and pulled him closer, smiling into the kiss.

“Yes.” Yusaku was breathless as he pulled back, cheeks flushed warmly and tears of joy clinging to his eyes. “Your future is my future.”
