Letter #71: It's Not Over
Dear Ohio,
It has yet to begin.
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the release of my album, "Based On A True Story." In a year's time, we, you and I, have done so much. (Read this thank you note that sent to the email list --> http://eepurl.com/tejMH.) Looking back from a year ago, I can honestly say, that I don't know if I ever thought I'd be here. I dreamed about it, but living it is another thing.
I am so grateful to carry your stories with me.
The past few weeks I have been resting and reflecting. We really worked hard to get the our story there this year. I was asking myself "Could I do this again next year?" The answer is yes. But I need some help. I need a team or else I am going to burn out. I am one man with a multitude of ideas, but I can not implement them myself! My body will fall apart! God smiled down on me yesterday.
As I was giving thanks to Jesus for a successful year, I heard in my heart all day " Its not over. It's not over. We haven't begun yet. This is training camp." Sometimes you come to what looks like the end of the road and you feel like the end of your dream is near. It looks like the end of the road because we must take another leap of faith to go further!
What looks like the end of the road, is just the gap between the mountain that you just conquered and the mountain that you must conquer to go higher!
Let's take this time to reflect and pray, or whatever you do to center yourself, over how far we have come over the last year. Let's use this year as a spring board for the next. Picture in your mind everything that you conquered this year! What is it going to take for us to higher, farther, and to be a blessing to more people? The fact that you've already thought of ways to improve, means that it's not over.
Let's get to work. The world is waiting for US to change it.
