After
Nait clings her bag a little closer to her person as she strolls down the streets of Stormwind. She kept re-reading the note in her head, the note she was currently clutching through her bag. I’m no longer the mage you knew in Gilneas. She knew that. She had known for a while, yet it had been so hard to let go of the idea until she ran into Abi in Dalaran. It was difficult to see her the way she was now when she had known her the way she was before. Nait cursed under her breath, cursing the name of Sylvanas as she made her way towards the inn. She felt eyes following her as she muttered under her breath, but she ignored it like always. She makes her way inside and rushes by the bar to her room, unlocking and swinging open the door before shutting it behind her, though not loudly. It was late and she didn’t want to cause a commotion. I’ve loved you for a long while...those words stuck out the most to Nait. She had loved Abi too....she still did, but not in the same way anymore. She sat on the bed and pulled the letter out, unfolding it gently as her fingers ran over the words Abi had written so long ago...and then the fresher print from a more recent time. This was it, this was what she was meant to have from Abi. Not the picture in her locket, that was meant for Abi to have...and she had passed it to Gin for that very reason. She smiled at the last part as her eyes began to fill with tears. I want you to move on. Find happiness. Find love again. She folded the note gently and held it to her chest as she began to cry fully now, her face bowed and tears fell to her thighs. You deserve love...life. Happiness.
You did too, Abi, Nait thought to herself as she wiped her own tears, returning the parchment to a small journal in her bag. She slipped it between the cover and the last page carefully and gently sat it beside her before falling back onto the bed, rolling to her side and, for the first time, truly thinking about another woman who had caught her attention...finally at peace with the idea of moving on, hopefully with her.
I will always love you, Abi. She closed her eyes and fell asleep with a smile on her face.
