Today, I'm taking a cue from one of my favorite video game series, Dance Dance Revolution, and we're playing Drop Out. Something that's always fascinated me about words is that if you change just one letter, you can alter the meaning of a word entirely—your BUDDY can suddenly be MUDDY; your MOMMY becomes a MUMMY, and your CRAPPER turns into The CLAPPER from those infomercials. What a difference a letter makes.
In today's puzzle, I'll give you a starting word and a clue after it in parentheses. You'll need to change one letter in the capitalized word to get the answer to the clue.
For example, if I said
STRING (coil)
The correct answer would be SPRING. Simple enough, right?
Here's ten more. Good luck!
