Dearest Rodolphus,
I embrace this first opportunity of writing these few lines merely to let you know I am still in existence and well and as you know how prone we all are to procrastinate I shall make no further excuse but proceed briefly with my epistle.
With these dreadful attacks of late on everyone’s mind, I assume you must be getting many letters inquiring as to your health. This will not be one of them. While I do hope you are in good health, my concern is for my eldest cousin.
I do hope that darling Bellatrix is alright and that her nerves are holding up. When last I saw her, she was in quite a state.
