Aziraphale: ... Crowley?

Crowley: ... Hmm?

Aziraphale: ... Are you... alright, dear? You haven’t spoken much since you read that letter.

Crowley: ... Neither have you.

Aziraphale: Oh, haha, yes, I suppose you’re right. Ahem, well, I suppose I should say thank you. It was a lovely read. I will treasure it forever.

Crowley: ... Is that it?

Aziraphale: Ah, oh, no, not at all, no, I also wanted to say thank you for taking this so seriously as I know that this was diffic-

Crowley: You’re not surprised?

Aziraphale: Surprised? 

Crowley: About what I wrote? Not very ‘demonic’, was it?

Aziraphale: I suppose it wasn’t, but no, I wasn’t surprised. You may never have stated it in words before, but I knew from your actions that your valued our friendship in much the same way that I do.

Crowley: ... Oh. Right.

Aziraphale: Were you surprised about what I wrote?

Crowley: Well yeah, obviously. 

Aziraphale: Oh. Then... I see how this could be a little... jarring for you... I suppose we ought to just... take a little time to process these words then. How does that sound, dear?

Crowley: ... Whatever, it’s just a stupid letter anyway.

C-, Could you miracle some parts of the letter to only appear afrer you have read A's letter and decided they were the right things to say to him at that point? That way you could write a few 'secret' messages and then release them if you feel it is right for both of you (I know, it is scary to be 'going too fast')? That could be things you would like to do together, your fondest memory of him, things you would want to share with him, things you were not sure you could say at the right time, etc

Crowley: ... Honestly, that’s genius. Well done human, I’m impressed! He might see through some of it I suppose, he is an angel, but it’s still worth a go. I can write whatever I want then, and then decide later which bits I want him to actually see. And if any parts stay secret I can just burn it afterwards and it’s gone forever. Perfect.

A - Why not talk about all the beautiful things Crowley has made? From nebulas to plants to his love of art, he seems to take pride and pleasure in the act of creation. It'd really make him happy to know you loved something he made.

Aziraphale: Oh I could easily do that, Crowley is a wonderful artist. Many of his creations are things I had once believed the Almighty herself had created, but turned out to be the work of his own talented hands. Yes, I can certainly list my favourite of his designs with ease!

C - I have a suggestion I think you'll actually like. When Aziraphale asks how you feel, give him a cheeky grin and say, "With my hands, obviously." 😉

Crowley: Perfect. Yeah, you’re right, that is the sort of suggestion I like. Keep this sort of thing coming, none of that emotional nonsense.

C - How about explaining why you're willing to walk on consacrated ground for him?

Crowley: For the Vine? Not that Aziraphale would know what that meant even if it was still around. I think he knows I did that to try and find him anyway, or the first time to try and help him. Do you mean why I'd want to find him or help him? ... It's just kind of boring without him.

C- Just be honest. If you can’t do feelings then just tell him you want to spend the next 6,000 years with him at your side. I think he’ll get the hint.

Crowley: I guess that’s true so... yeah, alright, I’ll write that down.

C - Have you considered telling Aziraphale that you're the reason why he wasn't sent back to heaven a couple of centuries ago and could open his bookshop as planned instead?

Crowley: Do you think he’d care about that? He’d probably be angry at me for interfering, wouldn’t he? Because I wasn’t trying to do the Right thing obviously, I was trying to do the Wrong thing, by meddling in the affairs of angels. It’s just a coincidence he might have quite liked the outcome in the end...

A - you could list the top five things you like about him while avoiding any moral judgement words. Things that you enjoy. Don't mention goodness. Just that you like them. He clearly deflects from 'good' and 'nice'. And it might make him feel your love is dependent upon work related reasons and not actually him.

Aziraphale: Yes that does seem like a good way to go. I have a most wonderful first edition copy of Roget’s Thesaurus beside me as I write, so that should indeed help me to come up with words to replace those with, without any sort of moral judgement involved.
