Dietrich Bonhoeffer a companion during SIP
As my blog reveals, I have invested a lot of my academic and personal life reading the pages that Dietrich Bonhoeffer penned. During this SIP time, I find his Letters and Papers from Prison, an encouraging companion. Many times I tell my students that if they can’t find a live person to mentor them, to find an author and let their words mentor their heart for the time being. Bonhoeffer has played that role for myself, like many who read routinely C.S. Lewis, etc. I think it is interesting that his prison terms started around the Easter season, so it will be interesting to follow the liturgical calendar with him for this uncertain time.
