TW: Heavily implied SA, mentioned child abuse, more trauma dumping onto my OCs
Characters: Nikki Elone, Tommy Sweet, Morena Elone (mentioned), Markus Alone (mentioned)
Tommy was waiting very patiently for his lovely wife to come home. However, she was talking much longer then he expected... oh dear, what if someone has taken her? He quickly grabbed the car keys, and ran to his car. He knows how Nikki is, she'll freeze up in danger. He opened the door, turned that car on, and drove as fast as he could. It didn't matter to him that he was most definitely passing the speed limit, his wife was more important.
When he saw Nikki, she was just laying on the sidewalk with her eyes expressing pure emptiness. Tommy sighed, hey at least his wife was alive? He opened the door, and he helped Nikki into his car. He took off Nikki's coat, and cleaned up her face slowly. He makes sure he is being as gentle to Nikki as he could. He then drives both of them home, though he was still somehow speeding despite trying to be slow.
Once they arrived home, Tommy held Nikki's hand to their room. Nikki looked at Tommy's eyes and smile, still upset about what happened but glad to be near what's dear to her. Though she needed some time alone, so she went to the closet. She undressed, and just got distacted from her mirror. She can't handle looking at herself without remembering what keeps happening to her. She itched where she remembers being touched at, almost like she was trying to pull the skin they touched off. She wasn't crying, she was used to the feeling but that didn't mean it didn't hurt.
She then finally got dressed in plain black shorts, and a oversized plain white shirt. She still felt strained and gross, but that wasn't important right now. She took some melatonin, and got out of the closet, flopping onto the bed. Tommy just got in bed with her, but gave Nikki some space. He kinda knew Nikki didn't want affection from him right now, and that's okay with him.
When Nikki fell asleep, the flashbacks wouldn't stop. Why couldn't she have done more? Why must she be like this? Why can't she get proper help? Why must she need help? Questions that bother her but not enough for her to answer them. She tried to distract herself with other memories, like her wedding and the good parts of fame.
However one memory struck out to her. The time she tried to run away with her siblings Morena and Markus. She remembered grabbing their school bags, and dumping everything out and then stuffing it with anything they could find in the kitchen. She then put books in Morena's bag, handheld games for Markus, and family photos for her own bag. They snuck out of the window, and ran until they got too tired to. They were out for days, but then the police found them.
Morena was too scared to share what happened to her, she was still conflicted whether it was right or wrong at the time. Markus knew they wouldn't believe him, nobody would believe a guy... meanwhile Nikki tried her hardest to get help. The cops didn't even try to believe the kids, just sent them back home and claimed that the kids were mad over proper punishment. Of course, when the parents talked to the police, they framed Nikki as a pathological liar and delusional.
Nikki woke up in the middle of the night, only to turn around and see Tom endlessly scrolling on his phone. She slowly reached out to him, so lightly wrapping her arms around him. Tommy put his phone away, and cuddled her back. He gave Nikki a kiss on the forehead, knowing Nikki must be upset if she's doing this so late into the night.
Nikki then whispered softly to Tom "It's crazy to think how normalized abuse is." Tom got confused, he thought abuse wasn't being normalized anymore, he thought it was finally reaching a point where anyone can speak out about it. Nikki then went on "There's a reason I usually look miserable at least once a week. The worst part is I know I'm not the only one, I would be much happier if I knew the suffering was made for me and me alone. I would gladly accept this pain if it meant that nobody else has to face it, but it just isn't the case."
Tommy wish he could understand the words the woman he loved most was saying, but it wasn't very clear to him. He just knew she was in pain, he never bothered to ask because he knew she wasn't in the right state to. He wanted to ask what happened, but he knew she wouldn't answer... she never does. He just hugs tighter, trying his best to listen.
Nikki thought back into her mind, a haunting memory. She remembered when her poor sister Morena found out what was actual love, she tried to swallow the pain, to keep it to herself. However she broke down in the middle of school, yelling out about everyone who was hurting her. About all those adults and kids who decided to touch her. How she couldn't trust her parents, her teachers, or even her best friend as she had at least one in each of their categories use her. And....
Nobody cared.
Not that they didn't believe her, they just didn't care. They just gave her blank stares, laughs, and the adults told her to not disturb the class. She was treated so badly that even when people felt bad for her, she just pushed them away thinking they didn't mean it and were going to hurt her. Morena only trusted her siblings, but even then that trust was slowly breaking as Morena slowly grew a persona and even acted like that persona around them.
It was driving Nikki mad just thinking about it, how Morena got convinced nobody cared about her. How Morena started to willingly get herself into bad situations just because that's all she's used to it. How she stopped wearing glasses, and never got contacts because she thought it would be better if she couldn't see what was happening clearly.
As Nikki thought about it all, she just spoke "Hey, at least I dont got it as bad as others. At least I have you to talk too." Nikki laid on Tommy's chest, softly crying herself to sleep. Tommy just laid there blankly, not sure if he should go to bed after the messages Nikki said. His mind was trying to solve it, but he was still missing quite a but puzzle pieces. Even if there was all the pieces there, he wasn't sure if he even should solve it, he respected the fact Nikki never told him what was happening. Perhaps it's for his and her own good.
