Snake shaming
the pythons got upgrades recently, though i need to buy more cover for them soon! (silas was in shed when they were upgraded so the photo of him isn’t very good whoops, and he’s also going to be upgraded again once i finish building a non-glass enclosure for him!)

A tragic story in two parts
This past November I bought a ball python from Petco. I know, it’s terrible and it only perpetuates the real issue, I get it. But this thin lil noodle stared back at me from her enclosure with the softest blue eyes and I couldn’t say no.
They told me that she hadn’t eaten in a few weeks and that they were feeding her hoppers when she would eat. Which, even as thin and small as this snake was she was way past the size of eating hoppers. And feeding mice to ball pythons isn’t a good idea anyway, but that’s another discussion entirely. It has taken me a vet visit, multiple trips to my local reptile store for f/t r*ts, one trip there for a live fuzzy (when I ran out of options and she was going on two and a half months without a meal and getting thinner), and every trick in the book, but finally she’s eating f/t r*ats consistently and she looks so much better than she did when I first got her. Look at this chonky babe :3
