good religious muses

mark: lovely. an angel. he’s so entirely devoted to his religion and it makes him a better person. he’s happier for it. he’s also very intelligent which is good bc religious muses are always treated as book dumb. he’s gay and the book actually acknowledges that MAYBE he wants to be religious despite that. amazing.

lev: a good boy!! was literally part of a cult that wanted to sacrifice him, spent his entire childhood knowing he was being groomed as a sacrificial lamb. very, very angry about this when he realizes it’s wrong, hates everyone that did it to him, but still manages to find peace and happiness in religious when given a chance to seek out a new one.

greyson: not religious in the same sense as the others in that his god is a nearly all powerful computer program rather than the christian/jewish god but he is religious regardless. falls away from this as he gets pulled into a bunch of literal cults but holds on to this faith regardless. uses this worship as a comfort and is rewarded for his devotion in the end.

colin: uses his religion as a catalyst for him to be a better person. much pushier about his religion than anyone else here, but he truly believes he’s making a difference. also very intelligent which i’ve only discussed as being Rare. his religion is never a source of ridicule so much as it is his radicalism therein.
